What about Red Bull Racing or Team Mercedes. Although they aren't British, their F1 are based on the UK. It may be a good countermove to McLaren.

Unless Brailsford decides to search British only sponsors (but will be very limiting in a global market, look at Lefevere's problems this year with his search only in the local market of Flanders) is way higher the possibility to find a sponsor from a different country.

In terms of the future, we are open minded. If we can find a new long-term partner to take the Team forward into a new era, then we will do so. And we will be doing everything we can to make that happen over the coming weeks and months. Equally, any future partner would have to be the right partner - one who shares our ethos and buys in to our values.

Yes but unless there is money to pay for those, they will have to split considering the 2 costliest and most ambitious.
Of course they can still get a big sponsor like one of the Chinese

I doubt Brailsford will struggle to find a new title sponsor. The core of the team is under contracts, and for the widest audience the team is the most recognized outfit in the sport.
An issue for the new backer might be the identity, since Sky's made it from scratch, and it's hard to separate current personnel from it. The shade will be there for some time. Suppose there will be some negotiating budget-wise, but I doubt adventurists will make the offers.
Perfect moment for Oleg Tinkov's return to the sport/business... That would be some twist in the tale, wouldn't it?

As Quickstep demonstrated, the list of companies with 20 million to spend on cycling is considerably shorter than the list of companies with 7 million rattling around their advertising piggy bank. The list of ones with 35 million in spare change is shorter again.

Britain is a larger country than Belgium, but it’s also a country where cycling is further down the list of popular sports, and a country which is in the process of causing major disruption to its own economy. A lot of large companies currently have unusual outlays at the moment as they seek to mitigate Brexit damage and are likely to be more averse to extravagance.

Brailsford will have no problem finding a sponsor or sponsors adequate to run a cycling team. It may be very tricky to find ones willing to pony up something like their current mega budget.

The other issue is the age of their core assets. Froome will be 35 before the 2020 Tour, Thomas will be 34. It’s not impossible to win big at those ages by any means, but the odds are considerably worse. Is Bernal worth the same investment to a British focused sponsor?

Good Riddance!

We all know that the team sponsorship model in cycling is broken, but I believe cycling was better before SKY was around and one can only wish those like Brailsford would disappear for good.

You're spot on speaking about British identity. It's been inseparable project from British Cycling all the way from beginning. Now, when the Generation X is passing the prime, the things are changing and a new model might be needed.
The whole project is great example to learn on about hybrid, border-line, business models, their evolution, life-span, etc..
