Team Ineos Discussion thread

The idea of Bernal being used as a domestique in the Tour after leading the Giro is insane. Giro/Vuelta, maybe.

Poels' entire season was ruined by his crash in Paris-Nice and after that he was never given the chance to regain his form because the Giro came too early and after that it was straight to the Tour. Poels to the Tour this year was a very weird decision given that there was no way he was gonna be his usual self, is of little use on the flats and since Bernal was gonna take that spot on the train anyway.

For next year, Geoghegan Hart (I will butcher than name for years to come) and Poels should be able the pure climbing domestiques in the Tour, unless Geogeghan hart is paired up with Bernal and will work for him in the Giro. while Castro and Kwiat will do all the intermediate work. It's not like the route is gonna put them in trouble.

Seriously Sky has luxury problems. We're discussing teams that can completely control the Tour for not one, but two leaders who together won the last 4 Tours.

we have the serious Froome at work and the Froome posting funny and interesting things on his Instagram account.
instead of promoting himself in UK after winning TDFs , he chose to race the Vuelta. Thomas have been on tv/ radio shows

Maybe Froomie feels similar
Murray won it three times.

Ultimately this is a reality TV show, voted for by the public. The BBC have in past marketed alongside finals of The Apprentice and Strictly. When Cavendish won he was on every show that would have him on in the week before. Thomas has done similar - he was on 'Sunday Kitchen' this morning.
Froome by contrast has never done the celebrity stuff. He didn't grow up in a celebrity culture and I genuinely think it confuses him.

Lucky for Andy, nobody outside of the UK cares about this award in the slightest, and being Scottish he may not be in the UK that much longer.

you don't know what you are talking about

Andy Murray lives in London

Anyway G always had more chance of wining than Froome, having a connection to his local community helps for a start, Welsh vote helps, I am pleased he won. though I sort as much as I don't consider it a sport Hamilton would win.

Re: Team Sky Discussion thread

The shortlist is decided by the panel, the public then vote on the shortlist after it's announced during the show for 20mins. For Thomas, the whole of Wales would have voted for him so not surprising he won the popular vote. He's done a lot of TV since July too which always helps.

Of course he does. He had the money to leave like everyone desperately wants to.

Anyway, let's not discuss this any further. I assume from the amount of "this post is by a user in your ignore list" messages in here that the topic might have annoyed the resident fried mars bar eater, and I don't want any conflict.

EDIT: fixed the spelling

I can't let this go. I assume you are having a go at the Scots with your pathetic fried mars bar dig, and another assumption is the guy you are having a dig at is certainly not Scottish (other than birth perhaps but a wannabee English man). Where are you from, can I have a dig in response to your comment, except I wouldn't.

such a ignorant post... I get the feeling you don't know Scotland at all

With all the media stuff, and the boozing, G will likely be behind schedule somewhat in his fitness, compared to Froome at least. (although G looked stronger in the Tour of Britain despite all the partying...)

I don't mind Hamilton but don't like the procession that is F1 so glad he didn't win
How about the procession in July? ;)

"Fried mars bar eater"? That's one that I've never heard before.
