Nice one. Lets keep it on topic please instead of trying to troll/bait other members.
Oh. I just thought it was funny, I’m not on often enough to know who that would be trolling. I just found it amusing that after years of seeing the term used here it showed up in news about the space station

According to L’Équipe, Giuseppe Acquadro (the infamous agent) is responsible for Elissonde’s last minute eviction from the Vuelta squad in favor of his client De La Cruz (who, as of today, failed to find a team for next season).

This did seem like the most likely outcome, Kenny is already highly likely to head to Trek, while De La Cruz was rumoured with Movistar. Perhaps he changed his mind and will stay, and so got the Vuelta call up.

Both of them were good in Burgos so I was surprised they weren’t both in the team instead of one of the rouleurs like Stannard or Kiryienka. Obviously they want to give Doull a grand tour to aid his development.

Surely you didn't expect them to be contenders with the team they have? There isn't one GT team leader in there. They should have lost bucket loads from the TTT and gone for stage wins from day 2.

If they thought De La Cruz was still in the running for some sort of GC result that ended today, so they should be in all the breaks from now on.

My God Ineos are horse *** this Vuelta
God thing they brought all these rouleurs to help their GC hopefuls out.

Also said it before the race: Its a pathetic team. Now, I didnt expect them to perform this badly though, but Poels is incosistent as hell, Tao has never done anything in GTs and De la Cruz seems to have regressed quite a bit.

The most anonymous grand tour for this team for many years maybe ever. Seems like they had no plan B. Wonder if Ineos will ever invest in a quality spinter ? They don't necessarily need a train. Or even a TT specialist who would also be useful as a domestique. It seems when the mountain goats don't show up they close up shop. I suppose some will use the prep for the Worlds...............

They have Castroviejo who is a TT specialist and a useful domestique. However he was at the Tour and wasn't sent to la Vuelta.

If pinot didn't have that injury in the tour, ineos wouldn't win anything this season. Bernal really save their season.

To finish first, first you must finish.

Anyway, wasn’t there like 12s between Pinot and Bernal going into stage 18? Given how Bernal finished the Tour in top form, and how Pinot normally struggles after a few days in very hot weather (by his own admission), it’s a bold claim to make.

Thomas and Sivakov have done ok, but it has been a below par season. It’ll be interesting next year with Carapaz joining on how they go about plans.

yup, pretty awful season except for Bernal.

almost every other rider has underperformed or been injured.

some other young riders like Sivakov and Dunbar been good. Thomas being 2nd at the Tour is also good for him. Bernal was just better this year.

But pinot recovered more than 2 minutes to bernal. Don't forget that pinot lost almost 2 minutes in the crosswinds and bleed some in the TTT too. This show how much difference a incredible team like sky can do against a average team like FDJ. Bernal's teammates also won the tour for him.

Will Team Ineos' financial unfair play be tempered by this news?

There are like 100 "ifs" for Pinot to win the Tour if he didn't retire. If we were talking about Froome it would be a different story. (Ok maybe not 100 "ifs" but many)

you also have to consider the fact that he's always a day or two short of any GT podium

One if: Could he have maintained his level from the Pyrenees?

If yes, he wins.
