everything is relative. if thomas stepped up once again he might've won catalunya that would've been a disaster.

I'm just disappointed Thomas didn't explode in Paris-Nice the way he did yesterday, but that's Sky, all their ups and downs come at the most convenient times.

Thomas DNS today.
go figure
;)

Thomas Geriant is prepping for Flanders...

Didn't Wiggins pull out of Catalunya as well in 2012?

Cycle sport’s global governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), has introduced an eight-day ban for any rider that has received a glucocorticosteroid (cortisone) injection.

The amendment to the UCI’s existing No Needle Policy stipulates that any rider receiving an injection of the anti-inflammatory drug must how notify the UCI and must not compete for eight days rather than the previous two-day ban.

UCI president Pat McQuaid said: “A rider who raced at the weekend could receive an injection of glucocorticosteroids and be racing again in a mid-week competition. Glucocorticosteroids are used to treat inflammations, so a rider requiring this treatment should not be racing within eight days. He or she should be attending his/her condition and resting.”

What about Porte?

Porte won Catalunya last year when riding for Sky, not difficult is it?

Catalunya and Andalucia 2015
Pais Vasco podium 2015 and 2013
Volta Valenciana 2016

not so bad in spanish races

To be fair, the hog has a point. Aside from Romandie (3 times), Algarve (3 times), Omloop (3 times), Bayern Rundfahrt (3 times), KBK (twice), Eneco Tour, Catalunya, E3, Montreal, Trentino, Vattenfall Cyclassics, Denmark, Tour of Britain, California, Austria, Andalucia, Valenciana, Herald Sun Tour, Coppa e Bartali, two MSR podiums and three podium spots in the Giro/ Vuelta, Sky have not achieved much at all in non ASO races

Be careful. The Clinic's moderators don't like sarcasm, especially when aimed at Sky haters

Kwiat on the Sky special mixdrink/juice?

How he just crushed Sagan in that sprint.

did you not know of Michal Kwiatkowski's sprint results? He can sprint just fine and dandy thankyou.

And a two-up sprint is less about jumping and accelerating from 55 to 65 kmph terminal velocity. It is a sprint coming in at 45kmph, and trying to ramp it up to 60kmph when they have been pulling turns and riding in the wind for the presious 30km

It comes down to who has the legs. And acceleration is really important. A rider like Mcewen would be unbeatable. Cav would not beat Mcewen very often if at all in a two up sprint. I think Mcewen would still beat quite a few of the bunch sprinters in the peloton in a two-up sprint. He was faster than Cav (Re: acceleration), in Mcewen's final year, he was never faster than Cav wrt terminal velocity. Bouhanni also has a Mcewen like jump and acceleration. So a sprint starting from a lower speed, I would expect Nasser to win nigh all.

Kwiatk can climb, timetrial, sprint, race one-day, race one-week, and may develop as a GC rider for longer events, he is not the overhyped overused weasel word #triplethreat, he is much more. Its a gestalt, no one knows what he is capable of. One of the young riders like Matthews and Sagan who can be much more than just a quick man in a decimated field, he is much more than the sum of these parts.

Good day for the world's best cycling team. Two wins and a third.

Doping works.................

Everyone knows that and it will always be part of the pro sport as well as PR speeches of clean pro sport. Grow up.

Kwiat didn't come out of nowhere.
Which is why he, like Landa, nicely exposes Sky's true colors.
Time to get Walsh on Off the Ball again, ask him if he thinks Kwiat and Sagan are clean.

Thomas will just ride Flanders. no GW nor DePanne nor Roubaix

Not that I think Kwiat is clean but he didn't come out of nowhere - he was 2014 World champ at just 23 years of age under OPQS.

Likewise LRP seems to be doing quite well despite leaving Sky.

So joining or leaving team Sky hasn't seen any obvious change in their levels. Kwiat at his age should be getting stronger with natural progression.

LRP is Tyler Hamilton. Dawg is going to run him down via the UCI. He'll be called up by the Dauphine.
