Most hilarious bike race at this level I've ever seen, the lack of ear pieces meant GB ( or should that be Sky) couldn't change there" race by slide rule " plan and ride "the man"...as it happens, on the road. Its basic stuff really.

Brailfords team of Robo Cops didnt know what to do and the rest let them simmer on the front at gas mark 4 till they'd boiled dry.

" we were two watts out on our calculations" said Dave ( allegedly)

The inquest will be fun :)

Yep. Let's just ride the entire peloton off our wheels wih 4 guys. 250km lead out train maybe wasn't going to work. Funniest tactics I've seen in a long time.

They kept talking to themselves and powered on. Perhaps they should have let the race evolve before getting on the front. Allow other countries to play a hand before committing themselves.

I thought that they were also the smartest people in town, no?

I think that Cavendish was the weakest link. He really should have been better on the last climb.

When I saw todays race I realised how much Sky is hated in the pro peloton. Good sign. Nibali riding his balls of for who? Too bad Cancellara made that blunder though.

Too bad British 'cycling'.

Or did they just miscalculate the watts Vino could drive?

Just a big fat hahahahaha to those wa*&((&nkers.

Edit:
On days like these I remember why I still watch this farce. Not everything can be bought. Luckily.

The funniest thing was Nibili and Gilbert were trying to make the race as hard as possible and Sky just fell into the trap. That just kept chasing and chasing. For what? What were they chasing?

Should have let the gaps grow to 10-15 minutes.

I had a horrible feeling for most of the race, but that all changed when Sky blew up.

(Though interesting that both Uran and Nordhaug were active... sorry, I mean 'interesting'.)

Was Sky's failure down to being attacked from far out (unlike the Tour), not being allowed to just let the break go (unlike the Tour), a lack of radios, 'coming down', or just a case of greater distance and fewer men...?

PS Froome is now 3rd favourite for the time trial, not bad for a guy who was struggling to get his contract renewed 12 months ago. One has to wonder how many different marginal gains he must have made over that time. A couple of hundred?

The commentators here were calling Gilbert a fool. But what should he have done? Follow the Sky idiots? Nibali and Gilbert deserve a statue for making this farce a race. I must include the Spanish armada as well. Those guys who were fokked in the Tour like Luis Leon and Cancellara made the Clinics point today. How can they win with four against 24-25? No way.

It was nice, I must say. My wife was annoyed but I really enjoyed it, espescially CAv not winning the bunch sprint. Two for two for British 'cycling'.

Let's all wave for Quennie!

So Sky's plan almost worked out for today, only for one of the most talented dopers of the last decade to spoil the party.

Please will an independent journalist have the courage to publically stand up and challenge Sky/ Team GB results this year. Perhaps if anyone who knows McQuaid is reading this, they can tell him, the British public do not want contrived fairy stories but good honest wins.

It might be too late to stop the sham now, but when the bubble burst it is going to be interesting

Spot on.Exactly my thoughts when I listened to the Cav, Brad , Sky love in on either ITV4 or Eurosport.

I am having a party, hell, this was clean cycling.

I'm kinda shocked that we are taking this in stride. Nobody here is even lifting their eyebrows about what Wiggins did today?

This was extraterrestial.

And about Froome... he dropped after driving a TTT for 200 km. Shabby performance indeed!

Yes. I am impressed by their riding and a bit scared by their tactics of controlling the race basically from the start with just 4 riders.

LOL, So you still watch to see an ex-doper who has never admitted to it, and who allegedly bought LBL in 2010 win the Olympic road race. That sir is The Clinic comedy gold, or are you being ironic. I not as good as other people on here reading in the meaning from the written word.

P.S I didn't see that Pro peleton hates Sky/GB sign you speak of?

I prefer to be a cynic.

Did love the falldown of Sky though, everybody should be loving that imho.

I certainly had a feeling that Nibbles was grinding an axe.

All that with an entire Tour de France in their legs!

I'm sure Wiggins can go beyond ET in the ITT and take gold. Recovery is an outdated training technique.

I have been hammering upon their doctors and been relatively quiet about how it looked (though it amused me we had to go back to Hinault for comparisson).

But I truely have never seen something like this. Wiggins surely has done one of the greatest cycling performances ever.

Paolini was there and has classics pedigree, and finished in the top 10, so him. I don't understand the confusion
