Coming in on this late but I did watch it this afternoon.
Discussing the crash does belong here. Why? Because of the incessant talk about "marginal gains" and the fact that $ky have two of the worst descenders in the peloton.
Do they not desend the mountain in Tenerife?
As for Wiggins he looked like a toddler who had thrown his bottle out of the pram after he crashed.
Why did they make other riders wait for him again on that downhill finish? He didn't even attempt to get on their wheels until the flat!
Didn't notice the ice on the knee but he will probably need some meds now won't he?

Correct. Marginal gains or in today's case marginal rains.

At the Giro it always rains. Surely they would have added this to the marginal things that add up to a win?

In the U.S. we have these lame "mountain bikers" who get shuttled to the top of descents, ride down, then get shuttled back up, limiting their exercise to about what someone would get sitting on a couch while watching TV. Maybe the flip side of the coin is Brits who ride up climbs then get shuttled down.

He was terrible. And worth discussing here especially, which was my original point. Descending like a granny, clear sign of doping and obviously best place for a discussion of it is here, and backed up by flawless modding

I just think it's funny to watch how uneasy he descends in the wet and how uneasy he is with a camera on him when under pressure. No hiding place, not a natural. Very awkward and stiff riding today especially. Maybe it'll help for tomorrow maybe the performance and fall today will hinder him. If anything it's the latter because he needs the time back more. What's the weather saying tomorrow?

Getting back to the subject of Sky the cracks are really begining to show in Wiggins season. With his Giro campaign falling to pieces and Froome now Brailsfords chosen leader for the Tour. How long before Brad throws a hissy fit in the press?

I remember years ago Orla was a more current affairs news presenter and reporter on Sky News(not the sports channel) before she was then made the main Olympic reporter for Sky. And when I say Olympic reporter, it was more reporting on the administrative side of things and the preparation over the years for the games(dealing with Lord Coe and so on). Only really with the introduction of Sky into cycling did she start getting more into the sport and now being their main reporter.

Shades of Armstrong's return when everything that happened to him was part of a master plan. That worked out well.
