Walsh says that skys bad day should stop the doping talk. Good to know, we should just forget about the Armstrong climbing the day before then:rolleyes:

Hmm so all this is basically

They are winning and not failing doping tests so it must be a new drug that is not tested yet.

lucky that no trees are cut for this debate, carry on :D

it could be a new drug but there are bigger chances that is not a new drug, they got on to something (training schemes, food regimes, rest and recoup schedules, muscle therapies, there is a lot of stuff going in) that all teams will use in the next years or already using (see Movistar).

I very much doubt that BSkyB is endangering its brand with a thing that is 0.6% of their marketing spending and can blow in their face like an business atomic bomb.

BTW what did you do your Ph.D in and did you easily get funding for it?

Infact can you link/send me a copy of your Thesis. Cheers

You gotta be kidding me.

This isn't an issue of Walsh having his own opinion which differs from mine (or ours). This is an issue of Walsh using absolute BS to make his point. He knows it's BS. He says it anyway.

Yesterday he was saying what made him know Armstrong was doping was when he bullied Bassons, even though that happened after the Sestriere stage. Remember what he said about the whole press room laughing at Sestriere? Yeah.

If you insist, mathematics, and in my country, at that time, there was a communist regime, so everything was covered by the state (not like communism is any good, it's the worst thing that happened to human race).

Back to doping, i find that a lot of energy is put in to emotional stuff, with no proofs of any kind.

I defended Armstrong until it was proved as a cheater. After that there was nothing to argue about.

Some winners are one in a billion specimens, not all of them are cheaters, labeling them as cheaters without any proofs is lame and shows disrespect for the 1000's of hours of hard work they put in.

Reading this The Clinic forum shows me a lot of bashing without any decent proofs, logical or factual.

Then you have no business being in the clinic where doping is discussed and opinions are voiced.

The clinic is not the anti doping of the sport.

The clinic has been accurate in it finger pointing pretty much.

You are trolling.

can you spot the contradictions ?

i come here eagerly waiting some nice stuff, underground stuff about doping.

Found some , for example, in the tennis thread, where some belgian guy said how his opponent become another person in the 2nd set, after he went to the toilet, and started to nose bleed few moments later. thats nice doping stuff

but in this thread found nothing except

- they win so they must dope
- they lose so they must do it on purpose to look human
- aliens and mutants

well, there is nothing wrong with all of the above, people can talk. But 21k posts hahaha this is really funny. opinions are voiced right ? this is mine :D

TBF he may just be very trusting, somebody has to be falling for all of those Nigerian Prince stories, otherwise they wouldn't keep sending them.
OK maybe gullible would be a better word than trusting.;)

Are Garmin really the only choir boys in the race? Curious victory by them on Sunday given what happened the day before.

Is everybody in on this? What was that conversation that David Walsh had with Steven Rooks back in 88 when Pedro was pinged?

What was curious about Martin & Fuglsang riding away from a Movistar/Froome stalemate? If Martin was a threat Froome would have reeled him in in a heartbeat.

You do realize that there is still no test for blood doping? One of the oldest ways to dope.

And that microdosing allows for really shirt detection windows on many drugs.

Agreed but it's kinda neat that Garmin should get the chance. The leaders scarcely bothered and Kelly seemed underwhelmed by it all. He never gave the break a chance. Belkin had three in the MJ group who didn't move a muscle all day. What was that all about?

I agree with you, if Martin was a threat, Froome would have gone alien.

Think about that for a minute. How many riders were attacking Froome and nothing stuck? AND, if Martin was a podium threat, Froome had still more power available than many to shut the attack down. I've seen movies with more believable battle sequences.

Exactly what people said about Lance and co at USPS, 'cept it was stuff like "higher cadence" and "trains harder than everyone else" and so forth. Call me cynical, but I've been following cycling long enough to suspect that when it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it almost always turns out to be a duck.

Kelly has a soft spot for Martin. Did you hear his excitement sneak out when Martin won LBL? I think he seemed underwhelmed because he was too busy muttering to himself c'mon Dan, c'mon Dan, c'mon Dan, and not wanting to get his hopes too high too early.

No, he is not kidding. Wilfully distorting stuff would be more appropriate though.
Here are both tweets sent to Walsh and his replies.
@imaginger 23h
@DavidWalshST don't you think the fact sky struggled so much should stop the talk of doping. And just respect a food team

@DavidWalshST 22h
@imaginger Martin I think it should. It's 9 years since I've covered Tour. Things have progressed. Scepticism is good, cynicism not so good.

But you also missed a key point when Walsh was discussing LA in 99 and Basson.
@DavidWalshST
People who make more noise than sense say I acted on suspicion in 99. Simply not true. Armstrong bullying Bassons was key moment for me.

@Digger_forum 7 Jul
@DavidWalshST you said when he did sestriere you just knew.

@Digger_forum Karl, I'd heard how he'd answered doping question after prologue, what Bassons said about doping, what we knew about EPO use.
