Should blame it on myself then. I followed cycling at a very regular basis but had no idea who he was. I knew pretty much each other rider who was doing well in that vuelta but i didn't know who he was.

Then again i didn't watch the giro of '09 completely :p

Did you watch the Atomic Jock Race?

He was very good in that. Managed to ride straight. Sometimes.

Didn't know him personally. I did what many of you will have done and tried to learn about him. The most obvious thing to me was that he had lost a hell of a lot of puffy weight which might account for a good deal of his improvement.

I didn't jump to the conclusion that he was on the Asturian steak, that's for sure.

Another one from Orla

Orla Chennaoui ‏@SkyOrla
On way back from Tenerife and worth noting, for all hoo-ha about Team Sky training here, 4 other teams were in same hotel, 5th just left.

[pedant] But he didn't win the Vuelta [/pedant]

He completed the course quicker than everybody else but lost to Seignior Cobo because of time bonuses.. so Ferminal is probably correct.

Sshh, details like this contradicts the whole 'Sky is the second coming' narrative

Michelle deleted her GW501516-tweet. Dave B must read the clinic.

Jimmy texted him last night. Told him that Clinic are onto Sky and there wonder drug.

As soon as Dave had phone reception he got the Dawg to muzzle the lady.

Actually I didn't read it, what exactly did she say?

[edit] Found it, and by the looks of the discussions on other forums and their contribution, I imagine she deleted because of the mocking she was getting about Chris. That and the misjudged use of inverted commas

Inquired as to whether it was yet possible to test positive for GW501516.

Not quite:

Has anyone been banned for the use of the "forbidden product" GW501516? WADA claims positive samples have been found?

A quick google on GW501516 beings up a whole lot of bodybuilding type websites.

Sort of scary really.

One of the first websites had a 60ml bottle for $100.
Thats a 30-60 day supply.

I'd be looking for positives in more bulk muscle type sports first. Lets give it a month or two for WADA to develop its cases.

Such a shame that we can't go back to august 2011 to ask you if you knew Froome.

Assuming you have a certain knowledge of cycling of course.(i know i'm hoping too much)

As I've said before, check out the Vuelta 2011 race threads on here if you're in any doubt. The WTF-age during the long ITT as Froome beat Cancellara is particularly amusing.

The Dawg did come close to Stuart O'Grady back in 2006 in a TT mate, that is a sign!

Nah, seen it all before. Everyone who saw 'the Italian/Spanish revolution' in the nineties knows enough.

I don't need to. I remember it well. Plenty of WTF-age, as you say. :D
I think there was a fair bit of WTF-age in the SKY camp too.

Ah crap, my bad. At least the inference is the roughly same. Since it was deleted and I don't recall, did you quote it verbatim there?

What did she mean exactly? That was a strange tweet from her, no?

No doubt Brailsford will have her silenced soon.

I said that kind of half in jest... but now I see Michelle's gone and deleted it! Lol, that's funny. :D

I'd just like to take this moment to say...

Hi Michelle <waves>, hiya Fran <waves> and hello Sir Dave <bows> :p

I checked out the thread of the tour 2012 (first ITT where sky 1-2'd)

I guess many of you guys were still in real denial of what happened in the vuelta last year cause the WTF there was hilarious :D
