Ending great 2 days with Team Sky in Tenerife, enjoying brief whiff of WiFi. Those guys are beasting it up the mountains and in great form.

From a Sky sports news reporter.

Froome, Siutsov, Lopez, Cataldo, Kennaugh and Knees are out there in Tenerife with Kerrison.

Wiggins is training on his own in Mallorca.

So who has the special preparation?

Lol i wonder what these americans would say if Porte would have won.

"He's white, we're good."

Cycling commentators are one of the worst i've seen in any sport, they just don't know **** about how it goes and when they accuse it's ridiculous.

Like that guy from sporza. Accusing saxo bank for being so 'superior' in the vuelta last year.

But what sky did at the tour was ok.

I was always under the impression that London did not so much win it, as Paris completely blew it...

Egomaniac that he is, we can't overlook Seb Coe's role in securing the OGs for London. He was brought in to lead the bid once it was realised that the previous leader's lack of sporting credibility was a major issue with the IOC.

This could be consistent with Paris blowing it. I recall that they were favourites for a long time and maybe their bid team got a bit complacent, allowing Seb's hyperactive efforts to speak to all the IOC delegates to be more significant than they maybe should have been.

It's interesting that the GB and French sporting authorities have allegedly hatached a plot for GB to support France's bid for a future OGs in exchange for the French supporting a GB bid to host one of the major soccer competitions. GB has the credibility/profile with the IOC but is on a par with North Korea with FIFA and UEFA, whereas the French have serious clout in football circles.

It was Tony Blair what won it: London would never have got them if Maggie T had still been getting up everyone's noses (and she would never have gone to Singapore to lobby every single IOC delegate like Blair did, and Chirac didn't)

Ok. What those two TV clowns were doing with regards to Quintana was much the same as what goes on in the clinic with regards to team Sky....aspersions being cast simply on the basis of their own (ill-informed) incredulity.

To say that Quintana "came from nowhere" one week ago is ill-informed.

To say that Froome "came from nowhere" to podium the Vuelta in 2011 is an accurate description.

Neither came from "nowhere".

That means it's not possible for anyone to come from "nowhere".

If that were the case past performances would have no predictive value.

He was riding for Team SKY FFS. Still, go ahead and use your own ignorance as an excuse to make stuff up.
Don't get me wrong...Froome's form at the Vuelta was a surprise to me as well, I just don't immediately transfer surprise to suspicion....well, not unless I'm watching Landis take 5 minutes out of the peleton, riding on his own the day after he's bonked.

Wow leaner than normal. Is he trying to make the Chicken look like a chubby red haired stepchild?

I think it's slightly odd that he's training on his own away from all his Giro teammates, but on the other hand it's classic Wiggins to want to be left alone to get on with it.

So the Anatomic Jock Race is on a par with the Route du Sud, Murcia and Giro dell'Emilia.

Yeah like those scrub European races can be compared with the GT/Monument that is the Jock Race.

Such a shame that we can't go back to august 2011 to ask you if you knew Froome.

Assuming you have a certain knowledge of cycling of course.(i know i'm hoping too much)

Everyone knew Froome, it's not like he hadn't been on TV before.

No one knew he was going to win the Vuelta.

Should blame it on myself then. I followed cycling at a very regular basis but had no idea who he was. I knew pretty much each other rider who was doing well in that vuelta but i didn't know who he was.

Then again i didn't watch the giro of '09 completely :p
