Look at you all soft on dopers. Every doper is a cheating scumbag and in all likely hood cheated in many other parts of their lives. You just have a crush on some dopers so you forgive them.

Young Steve Houanard of AG2R wasnt a scumbag, he was just a young rider who saw his dreams for the future going down the toilet and he was desperate.:(

Not all dopers are scumbags. Armstrong was a scumbag there are many other expletives I'm not allowed to use here to describe him.... not all dopers are Armstrong.

I like this, and agree that the word "scumbage" can not be arbitrarily applied to all. However doping is a universaly self-serving attribute. Make of that what you will.

it's interesting. could be a correlation but it could be totally random. i'm leaning toward the latter but who knows?

Don't worry. Goofy Dan Martin will be wheeled out soon as the paragon of clean cycling.

Just so Ryder doesn't have to comment via his Phonak ear piece.

You people keep spewing this nonsense

It is based on nothing but envy at a great cyclist

You do not know what you are talking about, and you certainly do not know SBW

I guess it's just determination and being on his bike 6 hours a day that turned him into a podium contender in the middle of his career. Something that's never happened before the introduction of oxygen vector doping. Winning fixes everything!

Now that we know the problem is gawker envy, I guess we're done! High-fives all around.

Sir Brad's departure will make interesting TdF politics for Team Sky. Sceptic's right, the number of contenders is three, not two.

I'm assuming they'll have THREE contenders, with Uran as an outside shot. Judging by his past behaviour and given the opportunity, Wiggo might not play loyal team supporter for Froome. I certainly don't know if Porte is capable of similar skulduggery.

Wiggo certainly has time to get off, then on a doping cycle for the TdF.

That would awesome to see an all-sky podium.

Dont know the origins of this but picked it up on Cycling Weekly forum. Think it may amuse a few here. I especialy like the suggestion other teams may be blocking Brads power meter data!..PMSL

"Sources close to Sky training staff have confirmed that Wiggin's power meter analysis before the race showed his FTP (functional threshold power) and power to weight ratio were better than ever. One coach told our source, "We are not sure yet if there is a problem with the power meter data analysis software which should estimate FTP to + / - 0.5% or if it is a power meter calibration problem. Brad is adamant that the power meters he is using in the Giro this year are giving him lower numbers for a perceived effort than he was getting all year in training. In fact we know his heart rate is higher at certain wattages in the race than it was in training but we know heart rate is irrelevant so we are not worried about this. We noticed that when the climbs get steep his cadence is lower than in training, but we know cadence is a red herring and we just look at the power numbers. We talked to Brad about his calibration methods and he has assured us he has been doing things by the book, but then he also said he left it to Steven de Jongh, Bobby Julich or Sean Yates to sort out his power meters until this year and when we asked him which book he was using he said he was using the same book as a weight as last year. We have tried putting the data through some new software and comparing that to the old software and we have found that the new software is a bit different to the old but only by a few watts. We have sent a whole load of data off to Dr Andrew Coggan, the leading expert in this field, and are hopeful he will be able to explain what has been going on. We told him about Brad's higher heart rate at over 400 watts in the race than he was getting in training but Coggan told us heart rate was of no use if you are training with power. We also think some of the other teams might be using some sort of device which throws the SRM data off. Brad says his power meter numbers get stuck whenever Nibali attacks. In fact Brad was looking at his power numbers which were a bit weird when he crashed the other day."

Kerrison says he believes Sky are the only professional team that offers dedicated one-to-one coaching to all its riders &**8211; they have four full-time coaches at present &**8211; and notes that other teams are looking to the British squad, whether it be warming down after stages, or sending whole detachments to train at altitude in Tenerife. "Everyone is now following our lead in things like warm-downs; more and more teams have coaching staff. I genuinely hope it's the start of a new era in cycling."

Awesome. Yes, they've created a device that becomes a man-in-the-middle, that lowers data values, only a little. That can happen. I saw it on the Tele.

My power meter readings get stuck every time a local pro puts the hammer down. Gotta look into that being the problem. Who knew power meters slowed me down?

Hilarious. Made my day.

Like Wiggo , i have turned into a " Fair weather Cyclist "! Left the Giro at Tarvisio due to eye trouble and enjoyed sunshine ever since .
My opthalmist , after thorough examination , says that the " floaters " will be an annoyance but require no meds !

As to a return to swimming around Italy , i can wait until next week , not skied this winter so the prospect of skiing in Valloire with my buddy , JP Grange , doesn't really appeal .

Couple of descents before the Giro , with blowouts in the front tyre , caused me some misgivings . Turned out it was the Vittoria Rim tape that was allowing the inner tube to push through to the spokes . Crap happens !

Sky will continue to have problems until Garmin invents a willpower meter. Maybe it will display in Wiggins Units.

1.0 W/kg (Wiggins/kg) = Brad Wiggums
2.0 W/kg = Andy Scleck
3.0 W/kg = Five-year-old girl
4.0 W/kg = Average recreational cyclist
5.0 W/kg = Average pro cyclist
6.0 W/kg = Cadel Evans
7.0 W/kg = Jens Voigt
8.0 W/kg = Thomas Voeckler

Is it just me or does something smell funny with the 2 cleanest guys in the peloton from the 2 cleanest teams in the peloton both pulling out?

How many other riders so far have pulled out due to being unwell (as opposed to injured in an accident)?

Virus / infection is now being touted by both.

Similar to 2011 Vuelta? Doesn't seem to be.

When was the last time 2 out of the top 4 contenders (Nibali + Evans) pulled out due to having the sniffles?
Ryder is a lot less suspicious than Wiggins. Stop bringing him up in the sky thread.
