The 21 riders that are analyzed in the book. Green, riders called "clean" yellow "suspect" riders in the orange "miraculous" and the red "mutants".

Voeckler yellow? Ha ha ha ha.
It's based on raw W/kg data, apparently, not on previous climbing prowess or expected outputs for a given rider.

It says the Sky duo is more suspect than Moreau and Virenque.

Speaking of Moreau. Not long ago, folks were saying how Wiggins is just a sh!t british version of Moreau. How things have changed:confused:

It knocks JVs rhetoric of the peloton being cleanER into reality. The peloton is not knocking out 65% Hcts but is doping none the less at the pointy end.

If its on pure wattage power-meters make it a little redundant applied to today's performances. I thought the focus swaps from turbo charging to recovery and consistency, and staying below suspicious thresholds?

Well, yes, but the thing is I don't think they used 6.0 W/kg as the magical threshold for clean cycling, so they're calling out some performances that the PR machine says are kosher. That's my impression without having actually read the article.

Shouldn't that chart being in it's own thread? Since I'm sure most people have gotten sick of reading this thread and probably wont see it.

Agree.

Done.

Froome really should be a mutant though!

Well, they are actually saying that there is magical threshold and it is obviously one of the weaknesses of this analysis.

But their magical threshold is not 6.0 W/kg is what I was getting at.

This is the best bit
It takes evrything into account (wind, weather etc)

Well he was a better pursuiter, so it wouldn't be unsurprising. Kennaugh should be a better climber though.

The thing about Geraint Thomas is that the clinic predicted he would be the next sky climber.

With wiggins and froome it was a huge surprise.

With Thomas, everyone said - hes British and rides for Sky, will he now suddenly learn how to climb.

And voila, what a coincidence, the next person who happens to be a good responder to Kerrison team sky revolutionary science, is him.

Are 4-5 min max efforts highly predictive of much longer efforts and recovery over 3 weeks in any other sport, or just in cycling? :p
