Porte definitely won't produce anything close to his level from last year, he was hanging on today. Did well to limit the losses he had already made.

"We've got a new governance officer. We scrutinize in real detail all the information that we get and our monitoring I'd say is second to none. That's the learning from it."

latest BS rom Brailsford........
So why are they still hiring Servais Knavens...
This guy won Paris Roubaix on Domo Farm Frites when that team took the podium, yes 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Clean of course otherwise he wouldn't be working on Sky!
no governance on Knavens past......

zlev11 said:i still think Porte is going to win this. much better at the TT than nibali and if he can pull off another 2013 Ax3d performance it's entirely possible that he could take back a minute or so before the TT. it's long from over IMO.
thehog said:And Porte totally deserves the win as well. Niballi really has just sat on for the yellow.
maxmartin said:wait for nIbAnI smashes everyone in the final ITT, how many seconds he lost to Wiggins in the first ITT?
DirtyWorks said:Hog, I mean you no disrespect, but you have jumped the shark with Porte.
Complaints of riders moving into the GC lead as "just sat on" are certainly older than I am. Nibali's ridden strategically and aggressively as needed.
zlev11 said:in 2012? he lost 2:07 in the 1st TT and 3:38 in the 2nd (1:13 behind Porte)
Sure, it was only 11 seconds, but Wigans punctured and the Giro TT was wet, hillier and more technical than the two TT's at the 2012 TdF. In a plain, flat, dry TT the gap would have been much bigger.maxmartin said:wait for nIbAnI smashes everyone in the final ITT, how many seconds he lost to Wiggins in the first ITT?
maxmartin said:come on, i was talking about Giro 2013 ITT, 2013Giro nibali is significant better than 2012 Tour Nibali. And 2014 tour Nibali could be even better than 2013 Giro Nibali. Plus the Itt route this year is more like 2013 hilly route than 2012 pan flat route.

Sky don't seem to be doing much to scrutinise their potential recruits - such as asking, "How come this guy is suddenly so good in his mid-20s".
The Hitch said:We now know that at best they had no idea what made Froome good, but decided to lie on his behalf and claim it was because of their training (though they knew it was a lie) and follow the Bilharzia lie too.
