Haha good post, just skimmed back the last few pages and there's no-one person saying Sky is clean, just endless people moaning about them and 'The Brits'. Same old story.

G is the new Froome who was the new Wiggins who was the new Armstrong. C'est la Vie.

Agreed. Quite an extrapolation from results of a single stage raced without the vast majority of the best climbers in the world. (Also not an indication of a clean rider either.)

So we have this but everybody is talking only about Sky,G.respectively.Of course the other guys guys were powered by pure talent and will to the summit. It doesn't matter, the clinic is still the most hilarious part of the cycling news.

Yeah, but the other guys don't belong to team who want us to believe they are clean in the face of hiring Leinders and it's all done on nice pillows and flavoured water. That's why the Sky thread is as big as it is.

So the size of this thread is justified by Sky PR stunts

Hilarious. I read this last page and it's almost entirely Sky fans complaining about people saying why the thread is so long. Which pretty much explains why the thread is so long.

No such posts exist, not a single one. Maybe I blocked all these imaginary 'Skybots' and forgot about it.

you and i are reading a very different thread. as always its 50% racism from sky haters, and 50% jingoism from sky supporters.

Racism  You should report that.

That word doesn't mean what you think it means.

I think this page sums up why this thread is so long: bickering.

At least you have a model for G, since being world class on the track counts for nothing on the road, apparently.

It really doesn't count for much, because only a handful of countries take track cycling seriously. The vast majority of decent riders from all the major cycling nations have had no interest in a track career.

Plus, of course, the fact that a 4km pursuit has only a very little crossover with climbing a HC mountain.

Thomas Gerrans just never was that focussed on road racing, the track was his thing for ages. Now, in a non - Olympics year he switched his focus to being a TT'er and a mountaingoat. That's all.

No wonders for a man with his skills and dito admiration for Armstrond.

or alternately you can't recognise racism when you see it.

32,950 posts, that means 16,475 are racist. Can you link 20?

The implied comparison with Wiggins isn't a good one. Thomas could always climb reasonably well (not like an actual climber, not for a GT top 15, but reasonably well. Stout GT top 30 material). Wiggins was 100% an autobus passenger.

He won Fleche du Sud as a junior.
Agreed, that is the prelude to greatness ;)

He absolutely isnt a bad rider but after London he really transformed. Must be the altitude training and stuffies.

What I can recognize is stupidity, and it's emanating from your posts in spades.

They've gone too far this time. Outclimbing superstar climbers like Fuglsang, Jan Hirt, the really lightweight Tom Dumoulin, Reichenbach, Ten Dam, Morabito, and a flying Rafal Majka is just too much.

You guys are awesome.

Wasnt the excuse given in 2012 - after a six month peak - when the brits powered around France over 450W to keep the dirty cheaters in check that the best opposition wasnt there?

Yes, conquering those HC mountains in Luxembourg is a sign of great climbing talent for sure
