fine, I think Bernie was sarcastic about that. Walsh seems to be serious about that, he means it.

So after all that, you were just agreeing with me. That was a waste of time then.

I thought Bernie was being sarcastic as well. Apparently not?

Very confusement.

I'm not sure where the confusion comes from. We both agree that talk of 'good' and 'bad' dopers is a nonsense don't we?

Why is it nonsense? Look at Millar, JV, CVdV, GH et al still making a fine living out of cycling, whereas Ricco is castigated, Kohl castigated, Jascke castigated..........it is not nonsense.

I'm sorry that some of your favourites are castigated. There are plenty of dopers from non English speaking nations still making a living in cycling though (far, far more than there are English speakers). Only last week Ivan Basso retired to take up a new position with Tinkoff Saxo. Typical of one of your posts, especially as I have never claimed to be a supporter of any of the names you listed.

we were not talking about individuals but 'confusion' and 'nonsense'. You were confused! I tried to de-confuse you, I obviously failed

Way to miss the point

Benotti isn't lamenting over favourites being castigated, (he doesn't have any anyway and you know this, you've been here more than long enough!) he's pointing out glaring inconsistency. Add in the fact that the riders from English speaking backgrounds are generally the ones getting the tap on the wrist (Armstrong and Basso two rare exclusions) and things look mighty suspect.

Here's how a few self admitted career long "good dopers" are paying for their transgressions:

But I guess you're going to try and put your own twist on it anyway...

Here's an example that if you have good PR, a nice message, celebrity friends and media endorsement, everyone will follow the narrative and you can behave pretty much how you want. Only during the fallout (usually many years later) will anyone question why most were so easily duped.

Seriously? You have managed to associate smoking and doping, how paranoid can you get? You do realize that a huge percentage of the popultion smokes and there for some cyclist smoke?

Drinking beer and Nutella is bad. Smoking is fine. It's important to put the lungs under stress with nicotine so they get stronger. Sky are way ahead in this department. Phillip Morris to sponsor the team in 2017.

Peter is just following others. Shane Sutton was well known in his day for riding and winning completely clean and he was very partial to having a *** before and after races. It is all part of doing things differently, which so many teams just do not understand.

First you get wheels that are round. Next you fluff your pillows. Then have a ***. Some took a slight variation. Sir Bradley found his inner self and then came out, with the right attitude. "Lance and his mates have doped up and beaten me for years, I am going to train and then I'll show them. Regardless of wonder weight loss drug Aicar coming out, right now, I can beat them clean, I'll train harder and then with the Albert Einstein of cycling managers to guide me, (that is Sir David if any of you don't know) I will beat them all - Shane put that *** out - what do you think - can I do it"

"Believe in yourself Brad, you can do it clean just like I did. Beating dopers is easy. Do you want a *** ? "
