Vingegaard won´t be at the UAE Tour. According to Visma, it's due to the accident, but there's a video from two days ago showing him training with rain.

Clearly afraid to face a rampaging Remco…

I don't know if it's good or bad for Remco. Losing to Vingegaard is acceptable, but now he's forced to beat Del Toro easily.

On the other hand, a test against Vingegaard would have been better to measure his climbing level for the TDF and avoid any potentially misleading impressions.

Why does he need to beat Del Toro easily? He could've been the Giro winner last year if he rode with a bit of intelligence.

Del Toro’s biggest weakness is long climbs, much like Remco in that manner. Hes very versatile and impressive due to his age, but long climbs are still his main weakness, particular long real mountains.

Because someone aiming for the Tour de France must easily beat a domestique who has shown weaknesses in the high mountains. We've been debating for weeks whether Remco can overcome his difficulties on climbs.

Pogacar would be even more under pressure to win against certain rivals; it's not hard to understand.

So why should Evenepoel beat him easily if Evenepoel also supposedly can't do long mountains?

Jonas brings a new dimension to this as hes a real reference points and thereby interesting how Remco would do against him on Jebel Mobrah nothing else.

They can both do long climbs obviously but its not hard to aknowledge thats their weakest points relative in comparison to the rest..

You know that Del Toro isn't your regular domestique, right?
Besides, Del Toro may have well improved himself too.

I do agree that it won't be a very good sign if Del Toro beats Evenepoel, but Evenepoel shouldn't be expected to beat Del Toro "easy".

He's a great talent, yes, but he's shown he struggles on tough climbs against Carapaz and Ciccone.

In the Tour, he'll be a domestique, and Remco is aiming for at least third place and consolidate his position as the third contender, only behind Pogacar and Vingegaard.
