I have no idea who that player is.

Don't keep up much with the women's game huh? Can't blame you but she is currently ranked 26 and been as high as number 4. She won the 2011 US Open.

slamming sammy stosur

it made DFW go off and top himself with all the doping in tennis. There are no articles by DFW on Slamming Sammy.

#turninginhisgrave

We need to see Aaron Krickstein come back. The only player besides DFW who makes a bandana look good. and the portable fridges on his knees, or one of them atleast.

No articles about slamming Sammy, but there's this.

serena bench presses her partners after coitus then a gauloises alights. 20 reps, 2 sets. a single gauloises. one long draw, all film noir directors and edward bernays would appreciate the irony and symbolism at once, of the gauloises fellatio long draw. it is a companion piece to the matthew barney benchpress petroleum jelly. except Serena's is a performance art piece.

Oh, what I would give to live in the mind of blackcat for one day. Just one!

robow7: I follow women's tennis just as much as I do men's--i.e. I'm pulling for the Canuck to win, whether that be Genie or Milos. I stop watching after either are ousted from a tournament.
My question is how can someone in the women's game like, say, Halep (sp?) even stand a chance against the female version of Popeye the Sailorman?
Look at the runner-up in the Serena photo. She looks like a child in comparison.
I apologize if this is a dumb question, but when I see photos like the one above, I wonder how anyone can beat Serena or Slamming Sammy.

And what might make you say this, because she was a Czech or you saw anatomical changes ?

it was the arms. it was relative to the other athletes she was plaing against. Her arms were nothing like today. But her racquet wielding arm, the forearm like the proverbial baby's arm holding an apple. ok, that tortured metaphor makes no sense wrt this point, i just wanted to use the line.

but her muscular dominant arm, and the forearm, the veinous/venous forearm. like a male's forearm. She led the WTA by about 15 years when PEDs became a dominant component.

like a baby's arm holding an apple, if the veins in the baby's arm were equivalent to the proverbial

Yes not to mention there was some talk of her being a user of steroids. Boyer Coe discussed it:

Another example would be something that occurred in 1983. At the time Mike Mentzer and I were still working with Arthur Jones. During those times, there was a constantly flow of people going in and out offering Arthur all kinds on deal. On one particular day, Martina Navratilova had a meeting with Arthur. At the time, she was at the top of her game, tennis. The meeting went no where, so having time to kill, she started a conversation with Mike and I. She said that she had made use of weight training to improve her tennis, and it certainly worked, she was very muscular in her legs and especially her arms and forearms. Eventually the conversation turned to steroids, her program was about the same for any bodybuilder. So it goes across all sports. It was back then and is the same today.

wow, that piece on Martina is interesting. She was always willing to try anything that might give her an edge at that point in her career. She started wearing glasses while playing because she felt correcting her small amount of prescription would allow her to pick up the ball just a touch sooner. She along with Lendl on the men's side were really the first to bring into the game large amounts of time in the work out room with weight training along with greater concentration on diet. So I think it's highly plausible the story is accurate. As to the forearm thing, many tennis players have had an enormous forearm on their racquet hand side, generally the most developed set of muscles for all tennis players so try not to read too much into that if that is the only thing speculative.

This was Rod Laver's left forearm, his right one was anemic.

indeed robow. which is why i said, select like for like. v steffi graf, or gabriela sabatini. or chris evert.

obviously that is not a large enough sample, but there is a reason men have larger veins in their forum, the natural steroids and testosterone will mean men are leaner, and have greater vein size in their muscles.

and the wooden rackets were pretty heavy the. a better comparison would be billy jean king

What irks me about tennis are the Williams sisters. It's so obvious that, especially Serena, they are steroid dopers but nobody does anything to catch them.

That dude went to hell and beyond to nail Armstrong but the more obvious ones are left to prosper.

Looking at Williams sisters makes me think "wtf give Lance his titles back".

What exactly makes Venus in particular in your eyes such an obvious case of being a doper? Her physiology isn't any more enhanced than any of her other tennis rivals.

@ SkyTears: Still awaiting your response.

don't doubt that's true. Tennis is such a joke.
Her forearm? yes, impressive, but Robow has a fair point.

Remember also that those with one handed backhands never share half their strokes with the non dominant arm and so again, that probably leads to why you see many of the older era players with well built forearms along with the fact that those wooden racquets were much heavier than today's graphite. The Rocket was an anomaly, but not anywhere near the anomaly of Nadal's biceps derived from supposedly no weight lifting according to Uncle Toni.

Probably deleted because it's really stupid, the sort of tweet you expect from a guy his age.

someone did not tell him that it is stupid to provoke the testers, there is probably some way they matched the urine metabolites and your sample code number, to you, so...they have come back to you to see how the fuzzy metabolites that are clearly not natural, they have come back to see if the fuzzy numbers cross a threshold.

The coach and doping doctors, have not told him about the rules for the insider, and the outsider.

there are still rules for the insider even tho you are allowed to dope. You have to dope, but not spit in the soup, not test positive, dont rise these urine metabolites above a threshold. you do this, and you will be the sacrificial cow, the martyr.

Insider rule: allowed to dope, but do it on the down low, don't get caught and tarnish the brand of the sport, and their revenue.
Outsider rule: everyone are clean and nice people, and play sport for the succour moms (sic).
