p.s. Can someone tell me if Kolobnev gets to use this years points or of 2010?

Kolobnev has received his penalty from the Russian anti-doping agency, but WADA and UCI can still appeal to CAS so the case is still open. Actually I think maybe the deadline for appealing has surpassed but I haven't heard anything.

Anyway in case he's free to ride his 2010 value will count.

I thought so, but thanks for clearing it up.

Would be interested to hear how the submitted teams would divide their race specialisations too.

About 9 for the cobbles, 10 who can sprint, 9 time trialists, 5 for MTFs, 8 for hilly races, and 11 who could content for a one week stage race.

JV just said Talansky was the "logical bet" for the Garmin 2012 TDF top-10.

Who's going to put him in their CQ team?

EDIT: justsomeguy clarified "he said out of the names of Garmin who have not topped 10 before."

That might still be out of his reach. But it's a possibility. I had him on my team this year and he proved to be a good pick.

No he said out of the names of Garmin who have not topped 10 before.

I´m not sure Talansky will ride the Tour next year.

I have Talansky in my team, but i don't believe he can top-10 the Tour next year, nevertheless i expect him to perform like Van Garderen in 2010, at least i hope so.

It turns out he voted for Daniel Martin to get the tour de france top 10. Will he figure in people's teams then?

Dan will probably break even. If not, maybe get close to 1000 points. But a top 10 next year at the Tour won't be possible for him. If he lost time with just 42 ITT kilometers, how much time will he lose with the amount of TT K's the Tour is going to have. If he does make the Tour team next year, he's going to be there for support and stage hunting.

23.42?? You got very young team. So I guess you believe that some young guys are going to improve their score

Yes, it's very young. I like to follow young riders which I guess is also shown with the picks I've made. But I also think that one of the keys to the game is to find young riders who will do well - I probably have too many though, but whatever :D

I assume this is something you made up? :D

Anyway, if this was real I would play a sum of money on myself and steal everyone's good ideas :p

I too had Talansky in my shortlist before it was cool.

This. People please stop calling names. Don't bring people on good ideas.
I didn't like it last time when everyone was copying eachothers list.

I can't stop you though :D

I wonder how much time people put into this?

I've done most at work since I had some quiet days at work. Went to cqranking.com and the first thing I did was select 2011 and dutch riders. Picked the riders I had confidence in they would do better than previous last year.
Then I removed the dutch rider filter and started at nr.1 and went down the list. At end I had 35 riders and just 6900 points. Took me 20 minutes to adjust the list to 33 riders and 7486 points.

Think it took me about an hour to make the list.

I'm sure some of you are almost scientific with this list?

As I've mentioned before, I'm quite certain that I've spend more time on this than anyone else - but I guess it's quite logical as I've been looking for ex-dopers, updating the 2011 season etc. so much of the time I've spend on it has been related to some other work as well.

But basically, I've spend A LOT of time :D

I started out with a few riders I knew I was gonna pick based on how they have been doing this year in relation to their potential and previous seasons. There were some very obvious picks for me at least.

Then I've just gone through the list of riders looking for some potential good bargains, reading a lot about talents, looking at transfers etc.

I'm quite happy with my team (although there are still a few spots up for discussion) but it's clearly based on my obsession with youngsters - in a non-sexual way of course :D
