Then I don't know who you're talking about. Unless you're referring to this guy who slips on motorbike oil during TdF descends?

I originally talked about a Italian rider, who is a 10x underperformer to his previous 5 seasons, who changed the team for 2011 season (from Pro-Conti to PRT) and starts 2012 in the same team, who rode the Tour 2011 (but DNF the Galibier stage) and whom i dropped in my CQ team (i hate this 'forced' conspiracy ). As for the motorbike oil, perhaps i watched the Tour not too intently :(

Oh, I know who you mean now (of course, with the info you gave it was hard not to... :p). Weird, I missed him when I compiled my shortlist, even though in theory I looked at everyone's 2011 minus 2010 scores. Oh well. He's old now.

My Mistake. I thought you were talking about the Italian classics specialist who rode for Russian based PRT team in 2011 and is going to Ride for a Italian based Pro-Conti team in 2012.

is he a 10x underperformer to any of his seasons? :p

Not. But his CQ points in 2011 were quite low for his standards.
Anyway I'm hoping he wheel- sucks his way to victory in Milan San Remo Infuriating El Pistolero's Man Crush on the way.:D.
An Italian RR win like his Pro-Conti team Predecessor would also do no harm.

Good pick, I have him too. It will be very hard for him to do worse than last year, so even if he only doubles or triples his score (which is indeed ridiculously low), he will still have been a decent pick.

I'm hoping he will be confined to domestique duties for his two dear leaders.:p

the point being that i finally dropped him (i had to drop one 'low-pointer' but refused to omit any of my youngsters) and then due to my power of self-persuasion i convinced myself that he is not a good pick :D

Just for clarification; the final score is all the riders' scores put together right? So, like 500 +600 + 350 + 270 etc...?

yes, the riders' CQ scores in 2012 put together

That could well apply to two good picks.... ;)

Finally bit the bullet and submitted, final change was dropping Sicard for someone who hasn't been good for five years...

Sicard is really giving me the headaches. Such potential such a **** season.

Anyone can explain to me why he sucked so in 2011?

****. You had him, I only found him by sheer fluke as I was randomly looking through Lampre.

And you say he isnt worth it. Now that complicates my team more.

Also Talansky has been mentioned more than once on here, so anyone want to defend him. 200+ points. Im struggling to see reasons to keep him.

YEah was thinking the same. I have both.

Lol... I've just sent in my team and honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if I end up with less points than now... At least I know I've got one rider no one else has... And he's going to be awesome this season!

I suspect you might lose one third of your points by the end of the month right?;)

BTW you are aware of ingsves - if you get less than 7500, you are banned from the forum rule?

Because he's setting himself up for a 2012 Vuelta overall victory.

Noticed i had left out three underachievers and had to toss out three talents I really wanted in my team. Not sure how that will pan out since most people will have at least two of these underachievers.

I have put quite a few points in talents I hope will continue their development from last year. That might backfire.

I think I sent in my team - Hugo, did you get my message? Thanks for organizing.

You're on the list. So it looks like everything is fine.

Apart from the obvious fact that it isn't a very good team.

Whoa, he isn't worth for me, because in order to keep him in my CQ team, I should have sacrificed one of my young riders, which i don't want to do.

I'm not looking for some theoretical ‘winning strategy’, though i want to have a strong team as everybody else, but i search for the compromise between 'i like' and 'gonna pay out' (we all want those whom we like to pay out). It’s OK with Bertagnolli, he absolutely should pay out (it’s not about the best season in the career but some 300-400 points is pretty wise expectation), but I’ve made my choice – he’s out.

As for Talansky, I have him. The guy can tt pretty well, his climbing isn’t that good yet, but he’s improving. I think as a second year pro he can aim for some weeklong races and score there despite the competition in his team. I’m pretty sure he will improve in 2012 (if he remains fit during the year), imo from 300 till max 500 CQ points. Of course you are all looking for riders to double their scores and 300 points from a 229-pointer is not much of improvement but I’m gonna take a risk, if ‘risk’ is an appropriate word in the case of this game and somewhere in October we’ll see how it turns out.

Aaargh, having an annoying time changing goalposts in my team. Turns our one of my riders did the Tour of Hainan after I got all the results. Thinking of changing the whole team structure now...

Ha took me awhile to figure out who you were talking about Hitch/Kvinto, thought I missed an obvious one. Actually found him awhlie ago thanks to the magic of excel, "did not want" though, unless in special cases once riders start declining at a certain age, I made a specific note to stay away.

Team resubmitted now :)

EDIT: ah I see now we're naming anyway :p

Now when it is okay to name some of the riders, I am interested if many have faith in HAEDO Juan Jose  At least I hope he will prove to be a good pick :)

And also whether or not to pick Anton, as I am very much in doubt of him.
