Technically at only 4498 points down on last year I am top :D I reckon I can stay there for 3 or 4 weeks at least..

im afraid you equal 1st with everyone else - why didnt you add say Cav and EBH?

I have him. For 127 it's a good pick. The problem is he might now have to help Cobo/ Valverde at stage races ( even the one week ones )

He only have to win one little flat stage race with a TT and do well at the nats to surpass his '11 score. Don't think he would've targeted the same races as Cobo/Valverde anyway.

I think I am the only one with Galviz or Alarcon. Hopefully at least one of them will be in positive territory by the end of Tachira.

Well, browsing through the teams, it seems that, unsurprisingly, I have lots of picks the same as others (of course, there are 126 teams). There are some obvious names, and some riders hyped here on the forums. I picked through and I think that only 10 others and 9 others picked Leigh Howard and Michael Hepburn, respectively, which would be fine for me if they do well but I don't really like either of them (or their team) so I would only be happy in the CQ sense.

My main excitement, however, is that only 2 other people have Sacha Modolo. He's been a fave of mine for awhile (I picked him last year too), and he was my absolute last switch in this game, 1 minute before I sent it in this morning. So that's nice, that I can cheer for a rider in a race situation, cheer because he's on my CQ team, but cheer extra loud because he's my most unique pick. I'm surprised he wasn't picked by more, frankly, as last year he took a back seat to Belletti for awhile and didn't learn how to win until July. He could do quite well in MSR and the Olympics, IMO.

Also, as he's my most expensive pick at 532, I think there are only 3 players (antoniorossi, sublimit and youri900, with Kreuz at 528) with a lower 'highest' pick. Damn, I guess as I thought it over and over I was more averse to taking risks.

Edit: I see only 12 others picked Costa, so that revelation a few days ago didn't affect that many teams (as I assume at least some of those others had either figured out he was cheaper or were going to take him at the higher price)

Edit 2: I just remembered that Modolo was my second last pick. I scrambled around for a last pick, as I had Quintana and had to drop at least 21 points. After considering Valls and Agostini because they both would have given me exactly 7500, I went with Matthias Brandle at 25 points. Only 2 others picked him too. So that's great, last year I didn't have anyone more unique than 5 picks, this year my 2 last picks are more unique than that. I've gotta pick at the last minute every year...

GREIPEL Andre, only me and Eric8 have faith in the big german, go andre!

I think now with the departure of Gilbert, he'll be a more protected rider. He should be able to get more victories, and I hope I can see him reach at least 2000. And it may be because I'm just skimming, but the teams do not look that similar.

I reckon Stybar may prove to be a wise pick, actually. On my shortlist, but there were others I fancied more.

- Squire picking Valverde - well, he may not increase his points a ton, but he'll probably get you a bunch.

- Youri900 picking Sastre

- Rocksteady's all North American team (where is microdose this year? and Wiggins_fan?)

I see several people went and chose Maxim Iglinskiy. I had him on my team for a while, but then ended up switching him with Kroon.

I knew that I will see lots of obvious names on almost every team but I was surprised to see HENAO MONTOYA Sergio Luis on half of the teams. Was he mentioned in this thread or something? I wasnt reading because I didnt want to be influenced by others but I didnt expect that.

On the other hand. I have about 10 guys that were picked by less than 10% of the teams so that is a plus. Especially happy to see my most expensive pick (GALIMZYANOV Denis) on only three other teams

Maxim Iglinsky: I put him in without great confidence, because I'm not sure why he's been underperforming.

@Panda Claws exactly. I thought he was pretty convincing in only his first year on the road.

Anyone else backing Degenkolb, by the way?

Pretty much when he was confirmed with Sky, he was being talked about.

His highest score was somewhere around 500+ points. I took him out because of the new guys coming into Astana. There were more Astana riders I wanted to add to my team, but I didn't think they'd score high enough since I saw them being put to work as domestiques.

Yeah, there was a lot of talk about him as an 'obvious' pick in last year's CQ thread as early as April when he was rumoured to sign for sky. Then more and more in Utah and Colorado. Not so much in this thread.

I think stybar is doing too much atm. Might pay for it during the road season.

Points wise their good but space wise I dont think so. Voigt is 40 now.

voight is too old agreed, but maaskant has potential to be a very good buy. Unlucky last couple seasons, looked very good at omloop before the crash.
