Tour of Qatar GC has been good to me actually, with places 1,2,10,15,16 and 32. That's Frederik Willems in credit now, too.

People I wish I had:

Andrew Fenn. He should get lots of great races this year.
Bouhani: Beat Kittel in a sprint last week, could be a good year for him too.

Just realised that my team shares more riders with you then anyone else. U guess with your past result that's a good sign.:)

Well, it seems like overall the teams are more similar this year than last. I'm not sure what that will mean for the overall though. My instinct tells me I should have gone with some more less popular picks. Last year I think I benefitted from having riders like Viviani, Galimzyanov and Vaitkus that not many people had which perhaps gave an edge over the other people who had the same big scorers that I had such as Cobo, Wiggins Cunego etc.

Yeah i think ppl now share simular attitudes towards strategys so i think that will obviously lend itself to similar picks.

It's hard to say, eh? I've always been a firm believer that it's about having the right combination of 'obvious' guys first; like, say I have Breschel, Velits, Boonen, Pozzato and Henao (well, I guess I actually do) who are the most 5 popular picks. If one of them does great, I'm not as stoked because 'everyone' has them; but if all of them do really well, maybe only about 15-20 teams have all those guys, most might have 2-4 of them, but I'll be ahead of all but a few folks. Then it comes down to the unique picks. I think that's probably what you're saying, too, if I'm reading you right. A good base of 'obvious' guys is nothing to be ashamed of, and a good sprinkling of smart unique picks (agreed that Viviani and Galim, not to mention Nuyens, were key for you last year). I'm really banking a lot on Modolo in my team this year, and to a lesser extent guys like Costa and van Garderen, who only 15 and 18 teams have respectively.

But I'm excited to see what someone like Squire or Hilltopfinisher will do this year (both expensive and unique picks as the core of the team); I wrote off their approaches beforehand, but now I'm having my doubts.

Boonen
Velits

Algarve
Van Garderen

I delibratly avoided Boonen as I suspected he wouldn't get the results he wanted on the cobbles and that he wanted and that he was no longer worth considering in sprints ( essentially he was done ) and altough its only been Qatar I feel a bit stupid.

Man, I'm glad Qatar is finally over... The only guy in there who earned me some points is Renshaw. Please Duarte win Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria, and Pinot, Rolland, Quintana etc. do well in Tour de Med, if not, I'll lose those 16 places I earned last week. :(

Hopefully Bouhanni can win a stage at Tour of Oman and Slagter can get in the GC.

Well, anyways, my team is kind of climber heavy I think, well, at least it is sprinter poor. So when we get some more climbing going on, I'm sure I'll climb up at least a bit.

Aww poor you :p

My team is pretty balanced, I have climbers and sprinters. And I have lots of Saxoboys so they'll hopefully score me many points now they have a chance for themselves.

I didn't realize that yet when I posted that, since two sets of profiles were posted in the Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria thread. The first set had the first stage with a hilly finish, but it turns out it's just more sprinting. :(

But when Pinot, Rolland, Quintana and Valls storm up Mont Faron tomorrow, I'll be earning a decent ammoun of points, so I can hopefully, despite a horrible Tour of Qatar, still at least maintain my crappy position.
