The 2012 CQ Ranking Manager Game

The riders i am getting concerned about are Davis ( though he got me two points ), Kashechkin who lost 5 or so minutes, Kern ( though i expect him to hopefully go well near the TDF ) and Anacona Gomez ( who i have not heard any mention of ).

Other riders of concern for me are Hoste, Howard, Keukeleire, Clarke ( though he could show well later ) and J.Vanendert. I trust in Basso to own the Giro and for Kreuziger to go well too.

Update 11: Mellow Velo is still in the lead after crazy week

And with crazy I mean action packed as five new teams entered the top 10 - all in pretty impressive manner. Netserk jumped up 25 places to just enter the top 10 mainly because of Nibali who had an amazing week, scoring 428 points. Skibby the bush kangaroo, who's also this weeks top scorer with 969 points, jumped from 18th to 3rd and is showing why he's one of the pregame favorites. jancouver and AntonioRossi jumped 8 and 7 places respectively while SantiBotero moved up 22 places.

While Mellow Velo is still our leader he must be starting to feel the pressure as EvansIsTheBest moved a little closer this week. Mellow Velo did very well to defend his lead though, scoring the 6th most points this week.

On another note, while some might argue that the season has just started, Mellow Velo is now almost halfway towards being in profit, having scored 49.3% of his 7487 points total.

1. (1) Mellow Velo - 3691

Personally, I'm quite surprised to find myself in 28th place. I thought I would have moved down the ladder while I was on vacation.

I have an OK lineup for Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, a pretty good one for Settimana Ciclistica Internazionale but then not very good lineups for Dwars door Vlaanderen and E3 Prijs Vlaanderen.

Volta Ciclista a Catalunya:

BARDET Romain
ELISSONDE Kenny
PINOT Thibaut
QUINTANA ROJAS Nairo Alexander
KELDERMAN Wilco
MAJKA Rafal

Settimana Ciclistica Internazionale:

FELLINE Fabio
MOSER Moreno
RATTO Daniele
GUARDINI Andrea
BATTAGLIN Enrico
BETANCUR GOMEZ Carlos Alberto

Dwars door Vlaanderen:

VAN DER SANDE Tosh
VAN KEIRSBULCK Guillaume
PUCCIO Salvatore
VANMARCKE Sep
POZZATO Filippo
PELUCCHI Matteo

E3 Prijs Vlaanderen:

BOONEN Tom
DEMARE Arnaud
BRESCHEL Matti
VANMARCKE Sep
POZZATO Filippo

Yep. Can't help feeling my days are numbered. I had hopes of Rogers in Catalunya, but another DNS/F from him.

However, I think this week's battle will be won and lost in the fields around Flanders, rather than those Spanish hills.

Still, that's a whole month at the top for me. Something I never thought possible, given the risky quality of a few of my team.

Sure glad that Matthews is on his way back and hopefully Galimzyanov can finally kick start his season.

another week in the top10 for me... unfortunately Horner and Rogers didn't start the Volta...

this my lineup for the next two races

Settimana Coppi e Bartali
MOSER Moreno
BATTAGLIN Enrico

Dwars door Vlaanderen
IGLINSKIY Maxim
RENSHAW Mark
POZZATO Filippo
ASCANI Luca

nothing special...

Yeh Kern went well at Dauphine last year winning a stage and coming top 10 and then won french national TT before getting injured before the Tour which he was peaking for so logically he should get more points that last year:)
Keukeleire and Hoste are doing awfult atm and with Hoste not doing Roubaix he needs to get somehting done at Flanders though he is relatively low risk for me. Kekeleire is going to the giro which is good as he doesnt seem to be in form in time for the cobbles but he will probably be made to work for goss and co.
Vanendert will rule the ardennes, mark my words when looking at who picked him i couldnt believe that he wasnt one of the most popular picks, WARNING: Whoever doesnt have vanendert doesnt stand a chance of winning;)
Basso may own the giro but he still win not make enough points to justify his picking, just look at 2010 when he won the giro but didnt get much more points than last year (even with injuries) He may go well at Lombardia + others but he wont feel obliged to do much if he wins the giro so he was a pretty daft pick..... (i hope so as I originally put him in)
Davis I am worried about but his risk is so low and he will not need many results to justify himself. Put it this way, not that he is at GE will he have a worse season than at Astana? I doubt it, just because astana abused him while GE are prepared to do a lot of work for him.
Kreuziger has said he is doing the Vuelta which even if he just comes top5 in both Giro and Vuelta will make him a very good pick.
I am annoyed I didnt pick Clarke but he is expensive and he has had some bad luck so i dont think he will be that big a loss unless he manages to accummulate a tonne of points over the next 2/3 weeks. He is one to watch for next season though as he is a very versatile rider...

That's what you said after P-N, yet you are more firmly in the lead than ever before :D

I reckon the Critérium International will also have a big impact on the rankings but I agree that Catalyuna won't make much of a difference (kind of like P-N).

Hoste has really not been doing badly at all. For someone with the worst sprint in the world he's been up at the front keeping out of trouble in the top 20 in several semi-classics already. Flanders is his big goal, I don't expect much but writing him off already seems a little premature.

Vanendert is a risky pick at 430 (I also have him), will depend how he steps up to being leader on that team in the Ardennes. Also he will probably have less freedom at Le Tour if VDB doesn't crash out again.

I actually think 1300+ points is pretty good. :p

I mean, JESUS! will win the TdF. And CJ will win a classic and then Jonas wins the Giro and then I'm happy.

Seeing that he is leader now he is bound to be better than last season and he is improving anyway as he is gets older

Dwars door vlaanderen is a good haul for the dutchies, and thus good for me too. Terpstra and koen de Kort for place 1 and 3. Sad de Kort lost out to chavanel for second place.

You have both...

Congrats. :)

I think you'll end up above me in the next update.

I just hope I manage to snatch some more points in Catalunya. Got 40 today.
