I was considering Nibali over Basso for my CQ team this year. I chose Basso and I am deeply regretting this decision considering his form and him changing his choice around about which Grand Tour he and Nibali will be riding.

Lol same here.

Yeah hopefully those riders go well. Boonen would also then have P-R.

I hope the other riders do well too actually.

Actually... I'd rather have my unique picks do well........

If Boonen wins PR we should set up a second table for those who have him and those who don't.
I don't think we should, one rider is not going to decide the winner of the game. Of course having Boonen is going to help but the best theorically possible team at the end of the year is going to be around 22000-23000 points like last year whereas the winner probably won't surpass 16000 points, that leaves more than enough place to compensate with the other riders. For example a Westra/Gerrans/Tiernan-Locke/Freire combo is even better than Boonen and they will keep scoring much more consistently than Boonen for the rest of the season. Of course you could have taken the easy path and just take Boonen :D but it is not like he is the only one to score points. Besides after Scheldeprijs and P-R, he'll slow down dramatically.
Last year I didn't take Cobo, this year I have Offredo, tough luck. One bad pick (I have Offredo, Mellow Velo has Galimzyanov and we aren't doing too bad) won't prevent you from competing for the win and one good one won't necessarily mean that you will be in the first places.
By the way Mellow Velo has more points now than last year's leader after week 2 of the Giro (and he would have been in the top 10 after the Giro with his current 2012 score), insane
Also I have 14 riders in the positive

I'm really sorry, I thought I would be able to make an update today but due to easter holidays and a small vacation with the family, I won't be able to do one this week unfortunately. I'll be back next week though, that's a promise!

That's cool Hugo, see you next week! If anyone who has spreadsheet skills can update it, I'm sure we can last until next week...

It's actually pretty damn easy to update :) All you need to do is copy and paste the data from last weeks download on CQRanking.com into the sheet "Last week" (or whatever it's called) and copy and paste the data from this weeks download into the sheet "2012 results". Then the spreadsheet updates automatically.

Yay! Galimzyanov finally wins a sprint!
A whopping 26 points off his +600 point price tag.

On the negative side, I see that Démare is out of action indefinitely, with his De Panne wrist injury.

I have zero....

I'm going to follow my successful "pick young riders and riders I like" logic again.

I am as well but i am also seeing the riders who are not doing well at their season goals/ who are doing the Olympics. I then have riders who i think will continue to grow in terms of development/ riders who i like/ riders who i think might transfer to other teams.

That's amazing by Mellow Velo ( congrats ).
Only 2 people ( The Asian/ Just some Guy ) have Gerrans and neither of them have Westra or Freire or JTL.

Boonen will still have scope to score points after the Classics/ he could go to the Vuelta ( win a few stages there against no Cav probably ) and feature in the TDF/ other stage races/ the Olympics ( Belgiums' best sprinter probably ) throughout the year.

Admittedly though he will not score so much points in that timeframe which is why most of us also have GT contenders.

1 point from Henao in Pais Vasco

Another solid score from Farrar in Scheldeprijs, and Boivin again confirms he's a top cheap pick. :D

Damiano scored 1000+ points in 3 days?!

That's last week's update. He had Boonen, Pozzato, Ferrari, Breschel, Durbridge, Landa, and a fair few others who scored another 175 between them.

Pais Vasco going good so far, Kiserlovski, Henao, Poels and Spilak are all up there. Really hoping all 4 can finish top 10. None of them are great time trialists though, so they better go well today :D

Brajkovic and Vanendert are letting me down this year though....

Just a shame Castroviejo lost 43 seconds in the morning stage. :(

:(

I scored 10 pts today. And hopefully Kiserlovski can hang on to his fourth place to score shiny points.

Pais Vasco is going great for me: I've got Henao, Spilak, Kiserlovski and Poels all up there.

Then again, Brajkovic, Jeannesson and Pinot are letting me down. Especially Brajko and Pinot, since they were reasonably expensive picks. Jeannesson almost into profit, so I'm not to worried about him, but I really expected Brajko and Pinot to do well this season. And I need their precious points to make up for not having Boonen and Pozzato :D
