Nope, unfortunately not. Matthews, Colbrelli and Vanmarcke (of all people) were the most handy for me last week.
For the Olympics, I have Bettiol (who will win), Remco, Vansevenant, Pidcock (oh, wrong discipline), Moscon, Buchmann and G.

Definitely some potential to get a decent amount of points and make up some of the places I lost with the Tour.

As expected, the Tour was a disaster for my team in terms of points gained. But it could have been a lot worse in terms of how well/badly my big omissions fared. Thomas, Gaudu, SK, Mollema all did worse than I anticipated. Vingegaard probably did the most damage, along with Lutsenko and maybe Uran. As a result, have dropped from 7th to 24th over the 3 weeks, which as good as I could have hoped for.

Pretty much the same for me, well, Mollema saved it a bit for me, but many guys have him.
I'll just already look forward to the Vuelta
. There's always hope. Btw I really appreciated this discussion and the contributions of the folks who did the research on it. I've often wondered when marvelling at incredible individual seasons (eg Gilbert 2011, Evenepoel pre-crash 2020, Pogacar this year) how it would have felt in Merckx's heyday given that he was even more dominant. And this really puts it into perspective, wow. There has never been a male cyclist like him.
Looks like CQ is waiting for the OTT to give an update most likely, so I'll have an update later this week hopefully.
Thanks for looking up Roche '87 and Jalabert '95. Surprised Roche isn't higher with his Giro-Tour-Worlds triple.
It's pretty absurd that the worst year of Merckx's prime is better than anybody else's best year. Then again that particular year (1971) Merckx won the Tour de France (5 stages), the World Championships, Milano-Sanremo, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Giro di Lombardia, Paris-Nice (3 stages), Dauphiné Libéré (3 stages), etc. so it makes sense.
As far as I can tell, Freddy Maertens (1976 and 1977) is the only other to even crack 5000. Raise your hand if you had Maertens as the holder of the two best non-Merckx seasons of all time, I sure didn't. In fact I got so intrigued I started digging a little deeper into his 1977 year and before breaking his wrist in the Giro he was on track for maybe the greatest season ever. I mean how does that make any sense :
- 13 out 20 stages, the GC and the leader jersey from the first to the last stage of the Vuelta
- 7 out of 11 stages prior to his fall in the Giro (and after he left the race one of his teammates won 2 stages and another one won the GC +a stage so I would say Maertens would have been a pretty safe bet for the GC).

Same here. My team had a lot of potential, but ended up being pretty useless.
Well The Olympics was probably more damaging in one day, than three weeks of The Tour. My team were ineffective, while Mollema, Gaudu and Uran all scored well.
I still have hope for a good autumn. Starting tomorrow hopefully with San Sebastian

Update #26: Wout Else is New
CQ's update was very late this week but ended up including the Olympic Time Trial as well as the road race, leading to the odd situation where it's dated July 25th but includes a result from July 28th. Anyway, nobody had Carapaz in the game, so as has been the case on so many weeks in the last couple of years, the teams that had Wout Van Aert were the happiest of the week.
This Week's Top Scorers
It's a very good week for triley36, with 322 points from Van Aert (5 teams) leading the way. Support was found outside the Olympics too, with Quinn Simmons (22 teams) winning a 2.1 race for 194 points and Quinten Hermans picking up 62 (11 teams); Gaudu (128 points, 19 teams) contributed back in Tokyo as well. EvansIsTheBest comes very close and has a fine week even without WvA on their team, with leading scorers being Simmons, Mollema (a sneaky 180 points for 4th in the road race), McNulty (155, 9 teams) and Gaudu. R.O. Shipman nabs third with a different lineup headlined by Mollema but also with Uran (170 points, 8 teams) and Tom Dumoulin (160 points, 4 teams), being one of the teams who stuck with Tom through his early-season uncertainty.

I think that's the first time my team has appeared in an update this year. So thanks Mollema, McNulty, Simmons and Gaudu. I was really excited during the olympic games road race before I remembered how bad the rest of my team was and that it didn't really matter.
Update #27: San Sebastian gets a Strong Neilson Rating
It was a short CQ week as the last update went through Tuesday (Wednesday in Japan) to include the Olympics Time Trial, so there weren't too many scoring races. Clasica San Sebastian headlined the points, and so naturally our leaders had relatively subdued scores, and the bulk of the scoring came from the World Tour race.
This Week's Top Scorers
BlueRoads pulls out the win this week as one of the only two teams in the game with surprising CSS victor Neilson Powless. His 220 points would be enough for a top 30 finish on the week even without any other scorers, but BlueRoads supplements with a few other riders scoring, most notably Vingeagaard (58 points) continuing to deliver for his 9 teams, and Mollema (46) keeping on going in his consistent-scoring ways. Jakob747 finishes 11 points back by spreading out the points a bit more, leading the way is 110 from Covi (2 teams), but also 76 from Alaphilippe, 52 from Moscon, 45 from Champoussin, and Vingegaard points too. JPettersen is a bit further back for third, spreading it out even further with many of the above-mentioned riders but a high scorer of Harm Vanhoucke (83 points, 4 teams).

It gets better. Laporte also out and Moscon finished two minutes down. Presumably they're focussing on Kwiat. All I need now is for Evenepoel to get an unprecedented series of punctures for another fantastic week.
I don't know what happened but I believe Moscon was given ST as the winner.
Update #28: Object extends the lead again
This past week saw races in Burgos and Norway, with most of the popular expensive riders in the game taking the week off. As such, the leaders on the week were those with the best combo of relatively rare riders. Not a high scoring week overall, but still enough difference amongst the top teams overall to bring out some gaps.
This Week's Top Scorers
Vladimir has the magic combo this week, coming out on top by 16 points. Their team's highest scorer was Romain Bardet with 106 points for his 47 owners, but oh it could have been so much more. Mark Padun (10 teams) picked up 92 points, and Pavel Sivakov (31 teams) got 78. Vladimir rounds this out with a few riders scoring in the 30-50 range. Eyeballs Out gets the runner up spot with some points from rare riders in Norway - Odd Christian Eiking (130 points, 3 teams) and Samuele Battistella (83 points, 2 teams) add to Bardet and Sivakov points. Lortnoc rounds out the podium with Bardet, Sivakov and 110 points from Fabio Aru (14 teams), who manages his best GC finish in years at Burgos.

By this point of the season, there's not much movement in weeks like this, and shalgo nabs the spot as highest mover by moving up 7 spots in the overall with the Bardet/Sivakov/Aru combo. Vladimir doesn't quite manage the double win, but is up there in second, while ray10 rounds out the podium.
