yeah , that's what Wellens indicated at least.

Tratnik seems to be off to a good start, but looking at his schedule, that may also be necessary. Unless he turns into the next Laporte.

I'm glad Ruta Del Sol got cut short. If Ayuso got 2nd there now he probably would have a lot more points otherwise.
I'm not sure about that. Ayuso has a pretty good standard in TTs even when his shape is not there (like in Romandie last year). His performance in Jaen suggests he's far from his best so I'm inclined to think he benefitted from the race being cut short. As did Tiberi of course.

Second in Ruta del Sol, second in Alpes-Maritimes for my team. So not a terrible week in spite of lacking anyone in the top-4 of Algarve (or Oman, but the latter goes for most of us).

Decent week, Martinez & Arensman in Algarve; Cosnefroy in Alpes-Maritimes and couple of top ten on GC in Oman. Oh and Ayuso in Spain.

I think last week was very decent for myself. A few riders picked up points. I think I will be staying in about the same position in the rankings, which is good so far. Lamperti having a good Tour of Oman, which is still on-going.

This week.

Jaen
AYUSO Juan
HAGENES Per Strand
TURNER Ben

Volta ao Algarve
MARTÍNEZ Daniel Felipe
HIGUITA Sergio
ARENSMAN Thymen
SHEFFIELD Magnus
LEEMREIZE Gijs
HAGENES Per Strand
CHRISTEN Jan
MORGADO António
DEL TORO Isaac (Not on startlist yet but he rode the one-day race, so he should be here as well I am assuming)

Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del Sol
TIBERI Antonio
AYUSO Juan
A good outcome, I have to say.

Unfortunate with Sheffield but since pretty much every other rider will have scored something I cant really complain.

A good day today with Cosnefroy, Martinez, Arensman, Morgado, and Higuita. Perhaps a few more points from Christen and Honore once the full results in Algarve come through. And a promising start for Lecerf in Rwanda.

Even if it was only 5 pts for half of them, all of my 10 riders in Algarve ended up scoring.

Mechanical for Charmig cost me GC points in Oman. Relieved to see Martinez and Arensman looking good. Ayuso tomorrow hopefully.

Am all in on VAR this week though. Johannessen, Vauquelin and Tronchon. Three potential big difference-makers.
What a joke. First Vaquelin crashing and then THJ abandoning today. Beginning to get the same feeling as last year, with this team doing the opposite of adding to my enjoyment. On the plus side, Tronchon is turning into an early-season point machine. And Leemreize showed signs of potential success today at Algarve.

UAE
Poole
Riccitello
Lopez

First race of the season for Max and Matthew, so not expecting too much. Anything from Lopez would be a bonus, as he's the one who somehow stayed in the team, without me really noticing.

Could be worse.

I got close to 300 points in Algarve from my 10 riders but lacking anyone in the other races hurt since you all have just the right riders to pop off in these races. Down to 21st for me now.

Here's hoping for a good week again.

Van Gils only gets 20 points for his victory! GC apparently does not count.
That's interesting. CQranking has likely changed their mind about those points then. I see the old GC points are still live in the ranking but clicking on individual points for the year it has reverted to just stage points.

I guess that is part of the reason why the download is not ready yet for the week.

Edit: My quick calculation says that reverting those GC points moves me up 8 places from where I would have been. I drop 5 spots instead 13.

I think CQ Ranking just aligned with what the UCI decided (i.e. no GC (points), only one stage).

Broken collarbone for Johannessen. I feel sorry for you Johannessenists, as he looked great the last few races. Now he'll be off the bike for quite some time most likely.
Really bad luck, this news for my team. :( Had indeed a very good start of the season - both a loss on short term (Tour des Alpes-Maritimes) & on mid term. Broken collarbone is, in principle, only a few months out though, so let's hope he is back soon!

He was lighting up my rather mediocre start of the season, together with another rare pick: Ewen Costiou. The French rider lost his 2nd spot in Provence GC last week after missing out the first echelon, and yesterday, he had a great effort but was reeled in the last kilometers in France. There was potential for a haul in these French races, but the end result is a mere 36 points so far. At least he is a promising and very entertaining rider to follow for the rest of the season!

But as mentioned, other than that not the best start of the season, although I have the feeling it is not exactly that my riders are not performing, just no differential picks yet (or just the wrong ones / missing out on very profitable picks). Ayuso in Andalucia is not helping too.

Looking forward to the next weeks!

Yeah, he'll miss Strade Blanche and Tirreno - but likely not more than that. He should be ready for the Ardennes, but I'm not sure what warm up races he can do before that as Catalunya is probably too soon, so his form might take a hit unfortunately.
