@skidmark Alex Baudin: 51 or 76 cost?

I already have my team sent in, so it doesn't affect my squad, but in the light of the press release today it might be worth a clarification.
No recommendation intended, and if anyone objects to a rider being named here that might be seen as such I will delete.

Groenewegen:
**NOTE: I have made a specific rule to deal with the unique case of Dylan Groenewegen, who has faced a long suspension for a non-doping offense. Briefly, he is to be treated the same as dopers, available for his 2019 cost for both the 2021 and 2022 editions of the game.

The more comparable case of Quintana:
Do we have an authoritative answer as to whether Nairo Quintana is priced at 665 (2022 points with the Tour de France removed), 992 (2022 including his apparent TdF points before they were removed) or his 2021 score of 758?
(It would be brave to pick him when it is still uncertain whether he has a 2023 team, but...)
@Armchair cyclist and all interested, Nairo will cost his straight-up CQ cost of 665. It's a tricky situation as he wasn't really suspended and did not commit an ADRV. But of course the DQ sort of crosses the spirit of the doping rule. But I've decided on 665 as the cost.

I will be consistent with what I said for Quintana last year then, so he'll be 51. I'll have to rethink this for future years in situations like this - there is a strong case to be made that if someone gets their score lowered with a DQ they should not be available for that score the following year, ADRV or not. But for this case, Baudin will be 51.

We've got 21 teams submitted so far everyone! Thanks to those who have sent in so far. A reminder to expect the year-end CQ update on December 31st, and there are sometimes minor tweaks. I will do my best to upload the final update to the 'create your team' spreadsheet as early as possible on the 31st so you can double check.
That spreadsheet is now loaded at the CQ site, so you can check for yourselves if you are concerned about the legitimacy of your team.

I updated the 'Create Your Team' spreadsheet with the final CQ numbers, so if you use the link in the first post it will be the 'official' numbers.

As well, none of the 26 teams I processed already are put over the limit with the final update, so if I've confirmed your team you are good to go! (unless there's something silly like a name spelling change that results in a rider not being noticed, on top of a score change). So if you use the 'create your team' sheet from now you should be good.

Countdown to CQ Game 2024 is on!

Team submitted. Some random statistics: Riders from 19 different countries, Italy and Spain with 4 riders each. Average age 24,6 years based on CQ download from November so probably close to 25 now ;). No riders over 850 points and no riders below 30 points. So if there is a new Tarling amongst the zero pointers, I have certainly missed him. Good luck to everyone and looking forward to team reveal as always!
No riders under 30 points?!

Have only got 20 so far and three of them are on less than 10. I wouldn't worry, my team was terrible last year and am probably just repeating the same bad/ill-informed decisions.

Oh, I just saw that Vinokourov will be back in the WT next year. Nicolas Vinokourov that is. His twin brother will still ride for the development team though. I should have added him to my team just from name recognition.

Okay it is just after midnight on January 1st in most of Europe, which means 48 hours until submission deadline and 72 hours until publication deadline! It's coming up quick.

I've got 31 entries so far, so I expect quite a few submissions in the next couple of days. I'm signing off for 2023 to prep my own house to host a New Years party here in Canada, so I should be catching up on submissions whenever I am ready to face the world tomorrow. Happy new years everyone!
