On his wrist, following his training crash in December. So I guess he'll be out for a bit. If he was planning to do UAE Tour, that is probably not happening now.

Interesting to see De La Calle doing well in Mallorca as we speak! He was on my longlist as most likely Spanish PCT neo-pro to do something. So it would be nice if he doesn't join Hatherly in annoying me for not picking them. De La Calle would probably never have made it into my team anyway though. Several other options were ahead of him in the queue.

He was riding taped in TDU so as long as the surgery goes well it shouldn't keep him off the bike for long.

Man, Almeida better have a giga season.

Not loving how things are going so far. Van Baarle broken collarbone, Kron crash, Plapp surgery, Kamp in the gruppetto, Vine not great form, Tulett not recovered enough to race yet, Dunbar somehow not podiuming this race, Hatherly looking great.
And yet you were still beating 85% of us this morning :D

I didn't know enough about Barrenetxea to select him for the 2023 game, where he would have been a nice pick for my team, and his first season with Movistar wasn't that impressive, but this is a decent start for him.

Lots of DNFs. I was hit pretty hard by yesterday's abandonment in Mallorca, as it seemd the prime race for my riders to score. I doubt I'll have any joy in Palma. Pleased with Onley though, not just getting to 25% of his 2024 score, but more the fact that he looked consistently strong. Though he could have worked a bit harder for a place or two this morning.
Today in Marselle we see the debut of Paul Seixas. Who figures in plenty of teams.

So first hugh amount of points for the popular Bagioli today. He is already close to profit right now.

Also congrats to the 10 Schmid owners.

It´s about time, that my team also really starts the season. I am already behind in the ranking. Let´s see, what Demare is doing today in Palma..

Happy about Bagioli, but getting slightly worried by the fact that Pithie got beaten in the sprint for second by Aaron Gate!

Plapp could've scored instead of Schmid. Hate him now

The Spanish races had not exactly been a gold mine for my team, so for that reason I wasn't too unhappy about the cancellation yesterday, but Leitão has now turned it into a great week.

He had just spent a major bullet closing the gap to the FFB lead group.

Books could be written about those Red Bull 'tactics'. I hope both had a heatstroke, otherwise their riding was inexcusable.

Will that be the defining moment of the season?

Well it was a huge signal given how he raced at the finish. Got in a group of 4 that looked like they might hold on to the finish. Was swamped by the peloton. Re=gathered himself and actually managed to sprint, without much of a clear run and grabbed 5th. That kid is a real racer. He's probably going to score a hatful of points, but 2/3rds of the CQ players have him.

Still, this game is just as much about not missing people as it is about having differentials that others don't have. You could have the best possible unicorn who scores 5x their cost but it doesn't mean anything if you missed out on too many of the Del Toros or Girmays of the year for example. You can probably miss out on one or two or even a few more if your alternatives a decent but missing too many can be lethal when everyone else has them.
