Wow, pheasants... That's big. They scare my cat.

Well, hen (spurless, so not so dangerous). But still quite a feat.

He almost nailed a rooster (pheasant). I watched him stalk... it was pretty impressive. But he missed by about 6 inches. Good thing tho cuz those boys can do some damage with those spurs.

house cats are baddazz. if you were 6 inches tall, your dog would still do what you say. your kitty, would kill you and maybe eat you.

I got adopted by two cats from the Humane Society yesterday. Both females. Lana a Russian Blue and Mocha , a tortoiseshell.
They were right at home as soon as they got here. It has been 4 years since I've had cats. Divorced, she got the 4 cats and one dog..

Aaaaaaaaaw. It's hard to turn down faces like those. Like when I go to the pet shop to get pet food, I almost come away with another adoptee.

Cats are funny. Now you've gotten me started . My sister used to photograph the cat a lot, she wanted to capture every possible pose.

Lol, cats love boxes, the smaller the better. Kitty isn't particularly large, but once she tried her best to get comfortable in a box that was just too small. She finally wedged herself in, looking totally miserable, and shot me a look like, "Why are you forcing me to sleep in a box that is too small?"

Cats are officially box addicted and box fetishists.

Same goes for magazines and newspapers. If you put a newspaper on the floor - they will exactly place their *** on that newspaper even if the room has 1000m².

This is Johnny's favorite piece of clothes.
He loves this zipper-pullover.
He was hanging in there when he was very young - and it was always getting harder for him to fit in

Question for anyone adopted by hunting cats: Does your cat get tape worms?

The 2 cats we have now are indoor cats. But the last one was an outdoor cat who was hunter professionale. Everytime I'd mow the lawn, there'd be at least a dozen or more dead mice in the yard that would get mulched. That's just the ones he didn't eat. We were having to take him to the vet every 6 months for deworming. After a couple years of that, the vet just handed us a 5 year supply of tape worm pills. We would have to administer one pill every about every 6 months, but that solved the problem (you know... having a nice moment with the cat and then you spot a section of worm crawling on the cat's fur). Vet said the fleas on the mice carry the eggs of the worm. Just curious if this is a common problem.

We once had a cat that lived only for a few days because it apparently had worms when we adopted it. Poor thing probably had it for a while already. Small kitten dying was awfully sad.

I can't remember my current cat having a worm problem though and he's over 9 years old. I do remember him being poisoned once, that was freaking bad... It took him a few weeks to get back to his old self.

Kitty has never had a problem with worms. ON the other hand, I don't think she ever eats anything she kills.

We have several cats, including one that's a real hunter-gatherer type, that have caught mice, birds, rats, even squirrels (dead already?) baby possums, you name it. Very little problems with worms, but tapeworm is kind of nasty and needs the right meds at the right dosage, but can be treated.

Keeping your cats up to date with flea treatment is a good prevention.
