Carl Sagan was nothing compared to Walsh.

Walsh is a legend of our time, people will talk about him in thousands of years.
If you write that on Twitter Walsh might think you are serious and unblock you.

Touch down.

is there anything on how the bradzilla was discovered?

)

I have to check again but he fuses the brother and UCI stories together. There's something about the UCI blood testing center being right nevt door to Dr. Badzhilla in Kenya.

What are the odds of that!!?

Writing an autobiography at age 30 is stupid PR period.
but if you do it, then criticizing teammates is quite standard procedure for sports autobiographies. Its not gonna sell if it doesnt stirr things up a bit, if it doesnt create controversy. I dont think froome/wals did anything outof the ordinary there.

yes its laughable, but his dissing of brad and greg is not unsurprising.
what else was he voing to say? Nice lads, i love them!
that,s not selling,
I thought the book was supposed to be about Chris?
I thought his story was supposed to be so compelling that simply retelling the "facts" would be both riveting and inspiring and that that would be what generated sales?

Ya, know, just like Lance.

Armstrong sold many more books than Froome could ever hope to, but it had nothing to do with petty squabbles amongst teammates. On the contrary, it was all about myth creation, which is what has been simmering for some time now from the Froome/Cound/Sky camp.

Unceremoniously calling out teammates and rivals is better suited to a Jos

summary of the book at velorooms

Froome seems determined to ensure people don't like him.
From the summary: "Froome’s performance was valued even more than normal within the sport as it wasn’t deemed suspicious. The managers of rival teams believe Sky to be clean. "

If Riis, Unzue, JV, Lefevre, Vino and co. Deep in their heart had this belief, it would suprise me more than if Andy Schleck won Paris Roubaix.

The biggest disappointment in the book is there's no chapter on the Anatomic Jock Race!

Not even a mention :(

and then there's this...

2s9vknb.jpg

....that's all you get on Leinders.

Things like this are really interesting actually. If that rash wasn't contagious he could've just said "and the issues were gone in a few days" in the normal text. But he doesn't, because he knows he needs to talk about Leinders but he doesn't want to do it in the normal text, so he adds this little addendum about some bull****ty thing like this cream to clear himself from Leinders drawing the least amount of attention (because who reads addendums that apparently go more in depth on a saddle cream after all...). He presents himself as not being bothered by the doping stuff and by Leinders but I think he and Walsh are very insecure and scared about it, going out of their way not to really talk about it.

Froome comes across as someone who suspects anyone, but is too scared to talk to anyone about it as well. In effect, that makes him a bone idle whiner.

Probably should have the qualifier added that that poster is wiggos number 1 world fan and absolutely despises froome for keeping Wiggins off the team last year.
And this year.

Froomies arms are long, even the biggest sky defender can learn to hate him.

I do have a problem. Who is Froome? Is he the well behaving fella we see in interviews after/before races or is he the awhole he is in this book?

If it is the second, well, maybe the Clinic was right after all last year at Criterium International when he made Jicee look like a schoolgirl.

I must say, as a newish poster, that what I have seen here I find ugly and not nice.

So Froome releases a book that may well be not that well written. From what I see the only person on here who has bought it (and quoted it) is Hog. Following from that is much speculation & (I have to say) poisonous comment and diatribe. Yes this is a forum and discussion / debate is expected / wanted but some of the comments here just show that people have made their mind up whatever and seem to relish in basically treating him and MC badly. Yes, I will agree that MC needs to calm down on Twitter, etc. but c’mon guys (I just think) your comments on here are nasty without some of you having read the book (and no I haven’t read it – but then I’m not criticising it).

So perhaps... drumroll....wait.for.it. drumroll.... clearly every comment here is based on what's written in the book and indeed everyone here read the important passages.

So your point is what exactly? There's no speculation whatsoever. And poisonous comments? Well, I find it mild considering this place and the tone of that disgusting rag.

I'm quite serious: if I wrote a book like that I would be fired on the spot. And no court would save me there. It's that bad.

*snip*

but come on guys (I just think) your comments on here are nasty without some of you having read the book (and no I have not read it but then I am not criticising it).
But that's where we are different, we by reading the quotes did indeed read those parts of the book.

The book is trash. And that's very problematic if you consider it's his biography.

For me the Basso passage just makes clear how deluded Chris is... and the other quoted parts show his character in an extremely unfavorable way. And in no way is there a possible way where the rest of the book can put that in good light.

Yes, there is clear bias, INRG has a review that is more dispassionate.

Dont worry, I have the same problem when I just wanted to quote our 'new' member.

And again now, so, Will seems to have some problems.

Here we go:

Good observation Will.

Sue us.

A 'new' poster complaining about our postings, yet, since registering only posting in the Clinic, and, sky related topics?

Bike ***, we all get it sometimes.

Actually I can sorta see Basso asking Froome whats in his drink.

What Basso believes or doesn't believe about doping is however bunkum.

Weird isn't it, this softly spoken, seemingly quite humble man, a 'nice guy' interviews, suddenly is coming across and pathological and arrogant. Where everyone saw the ghost of Lance Armstrong etched in the features of Wiggins when he uttered his 'bone idle' soliquoy were perhaps looking in the wrong place. The book seems to scream entitlement, and casts other people as pawns in Froome's inevitable 'climb' to the top.

Mind you I'm going on the snippets and summaries I am reading, I have no desire to line Froome's pocket by buying it.

Anyone else get the vibe he just wants to be Brad's friend? 'Brad' is mentioned 377 times in the book, according to INRG, an average of once a page, which given a third of the book is about his childhood in Africa. The hacking of emails sounds unsavoury and very ruthless.

I guess if its a case of picking between Wiggins and Froome, I'll be a good Brit and go with Wiggins. I never warmed to Froome, never enjoyed his personality or riding style. That's not to say I think he's a doper, but I'm certainly not going to be supporting him in future.
