OK: straight vote it is then, between CQ and PCS as source of days raced. I have only become aware of PCS relatively recently, and had already become fairly reliant on CQ as my go-to source, but PCS looks impressive enough to trust as reliable. On the basis of ease of finding days raced, I vote (change to) PCS as source of days raced.
Vote also advertised at Velorooms: please have the integrity to only vote in one place.

Vote closes end of 1st Jan (UK time).

I say yes: PCS for race days, CQ for points

What happens if the rider loses his 2013 points during 2014?

The score against which points have to be lost is that on the CQ 31 December download.

If 2013 points are removed retrospectively, it will probably be because they incur a ban in 2014, and so they will have 0 race days in 2014, so they cannot gain 'credit' for points lost in this game.

If you think you can identify the guy who will race safely but unsuccessfully for 20 days, then crash, good luck in that.
Even riders who have seasons ruined by crashes tend to ride 20 days. I mean most crashes won't stop the rider from racing in the first place. If they do, chances are riders has either ridden 20 already, or is injured at the beginning of the season and comes back to do 20 by the end.

Not that I was being too serious. But with someone like cancellara who takes a lot of risks and has a lot of boonen fanboys throwing beer at him, there's 1300 points there. As an example. One could argue a certain Dutchman with 700 or so points, is a better example.

So to clarify all riders cost their 2013 total regardless of doping bans?
Yes

Do you have to pick 15 riders for this game, can you pick a smaller number?
Exactly 15 riders (tactics around low scorers who will score lower still is becoming one of the intriguing factors as I review the teams submitted so far).

5000 points, however, is an upper limit.

Yep: price as on the 31 Dec download from CQ.

15 riders means 15 riders (there have been some very inventive ways of getting cheap riders whose score will not rise); 5000 budget however is a maximum.

10 teams in so far, although 1 is over budget, but even among them there are 120 riders chosen, and 99 unique picks. The most popular rider is on 6 of the ten teams.

There are 30 riders already that have been selected for this game and the main CQ game, although their objectives are diametrically opposed: of those, 6 are selected at least 10 times in the main game, and one more than 20 times!

Still 8 days, 2 and a bit hours to get your teams in.

We haven't got many teams, so no point in shooting the game in the foot, but it would need to be fairly soon after the 20th. But unless those in on time kick up fuss, then some lenience can be allowed.

Should we embargo publication of teams until you have submitted?

Murali had asked for an extension: Shall we say allow 48 hours after the deadline (so I guess that can be interpreted as a 48 hour extension for everyone), then I'll publish data.

Yeah, sure, more people in the game the better and the stakes are not too high. I'm looking forward to seeing people's strategies!
