Armstrong TV advertisement quote

“This is my body, and I can do whatever I want to it. I can push it; Study it; Tweak it; Listen to it. Everybody wants to know what I am on. What am I on? I am on my bike busting my *** six hours a day; What are YOU on?”

This is Armstrong's defense to drug taking. His superior work ethic.

However, in Coyle's book ("Lance Armstrong's War") on Armstrong preparing for and at the 2004 TdF Armstrong arrives at the Spanish training camp way overweight (12 lbs from memory).

This overweight refutes his own justification for not being ON PEDs. On 6 hours training a day an athlete would have serious problems of maintaining weight and muscle mass without a substantial increase in calories.

Just saw a brief interview with Armstrong on Fox after he did a bike ride. Said he doesn't have anything to worry about. He looked like he could've burst into tears any second, if you ask me. Then he said something about feeling the best he's ever felt in 10 years. Still looked like he could've burst into tears.

Playing the victim again.

One wonders how one lives their life like that.

He raced this weekend and made sure he was smiling whenever he was photographed. It matches his personality profile to not concede anything by acting like he is unaffected. It is a way to stick it to everyone who is delighted he was laid low.

This was the year Armstrong was going for a 5th straight win and Mayo was seen as a very possible winner, but he lost time due to a crash and mononucleosis. It's possible Armstrong wanted Mayo to test positive at some time during that race? I think so, although he didn't.

Nope, he was going for his 6th win, not 5th.

He is a sociopath. The only real emotion sociopaths show is anger.

The comment section is priceless!

Well orchestrated. Within an hour every Armstrong article is flooded with the same talking points.

Fact is QScores recent survey had Armstrong being view positively by only 10% of the people who had heard of him.

He is toxic, it will get worse as the evidence get out

There could be something in that, be interesting to hear from a professional about the various concepts on how Lance sees his world.

Who orchestrates this, exactly? What's the name of the PR company? Couldn't this be exposed, and wouldn't that deal a huge blow (with no hookers) to what's left of Armstrong's credibility?

More on Corticosteroids with Vaughters + Tour of Switzerland

Armstrong did not disguise his contempt. "Poor Jonathan and his stupid little French team," he spat. "What the **** are you like? If you had stayed with me, this would have been taken care of but now you are not going to finish the Tour de France because of a wasp sting."

Vaughters was distraught. "I thought: '****! Here I am, on this team that is really trying to stick by the books and this guy is making fun of us for playing by the rules. That was the moment that effectively ended my career," he says. "I didn't want to race any more. It just didn't seem to matter to me after that."

Armstrong liked to boast about his friends in high places and those friends had served him well. During that first Tour win in 1999, he should have been disqualified after testing positive for a corticosteroid but was saved by a backdated therapeutic exemption. In 2002, Floyd Landis says that Armstrong told him that another positive test at the 2001 Tour of Switzerland had been overturned.

And look at where JV is at today. Anyone lesser would have given in and said "eff this, they're all cheating, I will just use this for a wasp sting". I applaude JV for fighting the good fight and for helping kids to avoid drugs.

I don't think they do this anymore but there are plenty of companies that will. Livestrong has a lot of followers. I understand there was a directive sent out that they should show their support on social media

I hope the evidence gets better than tidibts dribbled out like this in news articles.

The USADA needs to write a devastating report that brings everything together. Their credibility has been questioned, and Armstrong is currently engaged in a smear campaign against the agency and the anti-doping framework in general. Waiting three months for arbitration to complete for Bruyneel and the others would give Armstrong three months to shape public opinion. That would be hard to change. The agency needs to act before it is too late.

A deal was shopped that included flipping on Pat and Hein. Ultimately Pat and Hein offered what was thought to be the better deal.....Stupid move.

Yes, stupid move.

But, it makes a lot of sense and makes other stupid moves potentially look less stupid.

If this is true, then would this help explain the first stoopid complaint filed with Judge Sparks against USADA? Could that have been simply buying for time, while negotiations were in process?

That complaint was so stupid, that maybe it was intentional for more than just its PR spin.

Dave.
