Not a bad team Remco got for next year...

especially with:

Landa
Poels
V. Paret-Peintre
Van Wilder
Schachmann
Poels has been dirt for quite a while. Can't expect anything from him, and Hirt is definitely way better at this point. Van Wilder has proven to be a whatever-rider at this point I must admit, but maybe he gets better. VPP is the interesting rider for me, thats a good signing and he could even get better.

I don't know if I totally agree about this. Poels was decent in the spring, did well enough in both Tirreno, Catalunya and Tour of the Alps and he did take a nice win in Hungary. Last season he won a stage in both the Tour and the Vuelta, I think he can be useful. Maybe even more useful than Hirt even if Hirt in 2025 probably is a clearly better rider in the high mountains, as I think Poels becasue his size and experience as a domestique can be more useful as a wind protector etc when the peloton is shredded early.

Poels was expecting to go to the Giro I think, hence the underwhelming display at the Tour

He was 5th on Angliru last year as a dom, still incredibly dangerous in the very high mountains and they probably got him quite cheap.
PL said that Remco really respected Landa, who kept him calm and made sure he made no irrational decisions. I think Remco needs more experienced guys like Landa and Poels around him in order to get the best out of himself.

Narvaez to Man City is a bit disappointing isn't it.
Yes, actually poles did the full altitude camp between catalunya and Trentino to prepare the giro after doing the same andalucia-tirreno-cataluna programme as Caruso and tiberi.

He was then told after Trentino that he wouldn't go to giro, and so he carried his form to Hungary

However after Hungary he didn't do anymore training camp to prepare le tour and was just riding at home.

Apparently he was quite motivated to get a stage win in giro to complete the treble, and also to help tiberi. After missing out he probably didn't carry the same motivation into the summer. I think he is still a very useful rider, probably at 50 years old even he's still more useful than moscon for remco
