There won't be Astana next year at all hopefully
For me it's exactly the opposite...I'd have hoped for the same a few years ago, wasn't an Astana fan at all. then Cav came, then Renshaw working with him, then Kennaugh and Dowsett in the staff this year. I'm a fan now
For me it's exactly the opposite...
I was an Astanastan during the 2006 Vuelta,
I kid you not, this man was allegedly close to joining INEOS, until Ewan came onto the market. After endless years with DSM etc, Martijn Tusveld joins BEAT Cycling
"After receiving the news that I wouldn’t be getting a new contract in the WorldTour, I temporarily lost my motivation for the sport. However, my conversations with BEAT quickly made me realize that I’m not done racing yet. The club’s unique approach and the opportunity to combine my studies with my cycling career gave me the confidence and motivation to take this step."

And here I have been thinking of you as a nice guy all of these years.
Shame that Tusveld has had to drop this far down, thought he would have been a sensible signing for the likes of Unibet, Q36 or even a shoestring-budget Lotto.
Counterpoint: how many riders on Unibet are better than him? And wouldn't he have been more useful as a domestique for Q36 than adding two failed sprinters/unproven leadouts to their existing sprint trains in Liepins and González, or than Lotto's much more fodder-y signings like Veistroffer or Van de Wynkele? Obviously he isn't a massive loss to the pro peloton but I do feel he's a bit too good to have to drop all the way down to Beat Cycling of all teams.Isn't he just the definition of pack fodder?
