Thanks. I take that applies to all Belgians and all Belgian teams.

I think Girmay stays then, he renewed after winning green and should be quite expensive.

For Barré it won't be a problem no, his salary is probably very low. For Girmay it's harder, but I don't think Intermarché will be asking for the full compensation if he really wants to go. You also don't really want to end in a legal battle, most of the time it's just threatening, they also don't want to piss off Carrera probably.

It depends, but Intermarché was registrered in Belgium so they definitely have contracts under Belgian Law, meaning it definitely also counts for foreign riders. Every Belgian rider (cause technically employed by Belgian cycling, its super complicated) can use law of 78 tho if they want to get out of a contract, even if they aren't at a Belgian team.

With the still limited budget of the new Lotto, can they even afford to keep Girmay (after already paying for all the unemployed riders)? If not, the negotiation comes down to brinkmanship.

Intermarché France pays Girmays salary. No Girmay = less money. Girmay = more money.

Or at least those are the rumors. It's why they have been busy with Girmay for so long and couldn't sign other riders instead

Thanks again. Easy decision to keep him/demand full compensation.

Some notable transfers in the women peloton until now:

Ricarda Bauernfeind to Lidl Trek
Franzsika Koch to FDJ
Talia Appleton to Liv AlUla Jayco Continental Team
Pauliena Rooijakkers to UAE
Mavi García to UAE
Alison Jackson to St Michel - Preference Home - Auber93

Wonder what UAE plan is to have all these climbers? Włodarczyk, Squiban, Persico, ELB, Blasi, García and Rooijakkers.

Strange move by Alison Jackson, from a WT team next season to St Michel - Preference Home - Auber93.

Axel Heuns had the option to renew with the Rockets but chose to sign with FDJ (as per Wielerflits).

I couldn't help but feel a little joy reading it since it probably means someone from Intermarché, Lotto, Arkea or Wanty gets fished up. Maybe Veirstoffer if they need another Frenchman.
