My dream is coming true! I can't wait to see him sprint out of the neutral zone while everyone looks baffled.
In all honesty, early in his career he was a really good tactician, the guy roughed up and beat Johannes Thingnes Bø on a final lap in Antholz several years back, and he was good at altitude.

Then Simon Fourcade got hold of him and taught him the true secret of race breakdown: to expend all your energy in the first 40% of any given competition.

I'm getting spoiled with these latest transfer news, although it wouldn't really feel right if Pozzovivo ends up finishing his career at a different Italian team than Bardiani. However, it did bug me that he didn't do TOTA in 2024 so I'm all for him getting to ride it one last time. In fact I wouldn't mind it if he got a free wild card every single year.

visma interested in hindley to replace shates
Would be a good fit. More and substantial leader roles compared to Red Bull.
Salary could be on the same level, weaker in team competition and high possibility to go to the Tour as domestique, lead a Grand Tour and one or two of the big 7 one week stage races. To me this makes sense.

Jai would be a good fit there. Would lead one GT a year (most likely Giro or Vuelta), probably gets leadership at 3 or 4 of the 7 major tours (TA/PN, Catalunya/Itzulia, Romandie if Jonas doesn't ride it and Suisse/Dauphine) and likely be a domestique for either the Tour or the other GT he doesn't lead.

Big Wielerflits update on Soudal:
  • Lecerf will sign a new contract
  • One spot for either Eenkhoorn or Van Gestel
  • Everyone else who is in their contract year is on their way out, i.e. Landa, Vansevenant, Hayter, Schachmann, C. Pedersen and Svrcek
  • Savino, Schoofs, Valjavec and possibly Soenens are being promoted from the DT
  • And on top of that, they want two marquee signings, a climber and for reasons beyond human comprehension a sprinter with a similar profile to Magnier (this was previously rumoured to be De Lie, WF claim they are looking at Meeus)

If De Lie moves to Red Bull, Meeus might switch to Soudal

They have a very good devo team this year, would have thought climbing phenom Bravo and for sure Soenens would be called up before Valjavec. But maybe Bravo will be left until 2028 with the likes of Vanden Heede, Servranckx and Mexico's newest new climber Said Cisneros

Seixas is the guy for Soudal. They have the budget and are probably the team that can afford to support him.

Pederson would be a good get for a few teams, solid lead out rider.
