Good start, but not perfect since Orica (5 inclusive me have them) was beaten by 1.5 seconds...

Congrats Eshnar. The lone guy who had BMC.

None had Tinkoff...

I usally start good with TTTs, then go downhill fast... but if my stage picks are good this time (depending, amongst others, on Pelucchi)... well guys, then watch out :D

Not at all. All based on facts.

Pelucchi went 6-0 vs Bouhanni, Ewan, Degenkolb, van Asbroeck and Sagan combined in this season...
He is the strongest. Only little doubts I have: Will he make it over all those little hills unharmed? Will he stay healthy (which counts for all others too)? And he complained about the Vuelta being "too hot" for him. Otherwise I´d have him picked three times. Now I have him twice, and as R for stage 21 (if he makes it to Madrid)...

As I guessed earlier today, Defraye is indeed the strongest division now, while Coppi is the tightest...

86.5 IP Anquetil (Gap 1st to 5th; 3.5 points, as of before stage 1)
88.0 IP Bartali (Gap; 2.5)
88.0 IP Coppi (Gap; 1.0 only)
89.5 IP Defraeye (Gap; 2.0)

Seems like I was not the only one with the Dani Moreno idea for tomorrow (though in my division I was). Bit of a risk instead of 'safe' choices Purito or Valverde so it could come bite back hard, but worth it I think :)

Actually 5 picks with DMoreno... Valv with 10, JRod with 5, Sagan 1...

And after that, somebody from the game shall follow the RR thread. I might ask now and then after every little hill on the road "Where is Pelucchi" (and thus annoy the people there)... Oh my, that pick would be a steal. I am the only one having him. For now I dream, then I get nervous, and then hopefully not dissapointed, but "Yes, yes, yes" :)

Bummer - who would have thought that Giant-Alpecin would chicken out and not put the hammer down? No GC guy really, high voltage lead out train used to rev it up over 8 km around tight corners and so on. Disappointing. On the positive - not too many teams scored at the TTT so the damage wasn't that big. On the other hand - I don't get why Orica was so fast. To me their team for the Vuelta TTT looked like team B. I forgot Rule No.1 for this game: Go with the favorite, go with the odds, go safe. And I broke the rule twice. For stage 2 I picked D Moreno. Surely he will ride once again for Rodriguez. Bang, bang, bang - three hard hits to the head.

Yes it was disappointing by some teams... luckily my thought was right: That Orica goes all out since they always only have week one to shine. Otoh, I hope Chaves doesn´t break this time and rides into/near T-10 until the end...

Orica are nearly always up there in the TTT, and despite having a couple of strong guys missing they still had Gerrans, Howson, Impey, Docker and Meyer with Ewan putting in a really good turn today too.

Interesting... and I could bite myself. Had Dumoulin in my original Grand-Final-T-20 until I read some phucking interview him saying he´s not 100%. Thank you Dumoulin. Besides Pelucchi, you cost me the game. I remember very vwell I had him in the 2014 TdF, and he finished 30th. What a steal that one would have been. Angry now.

Good
Now two of my R´s are already gone in one and a half stage (Nibali, Pelucchi)... so Tala drop to wherever (how about anonymity at CG spot 107) too, and I can fully concentrate on my CG swap after the cut. Thanks god Torres seems to be the right choice of Colombia for the CG...

Basically everyone had Nibali at some point to win a stage and at top-20, so it's not really a big game changer!
