No he didn't when you compare how other cyclists have gotten away with their infractions. His mistake was being born in Germany (I am not trying to offend anybody, but I just feel that if he was born in a different European Country he could have been riding again by now).
I go with your post 100%.
If he was born in spain, he would not only riding by now, but never have stopped. May Pereiro Sio, Contradoper and Sastre would never have won a TdF. By the way, what is looking funny on this list? They are all are from spain. Isn´t it strange; in 102 years we had 4 different winners from this country, and now we have 3 in only 4 years.
The more i think of it, we were better up in the 90s: We had dopers beat dopers under medical supervision with max. 50 hct.
Now we have tricky dopers beat idiotic dopers beat clean riders who are under strict surveillance and thus can´t dope maximum (riders from france and germany) beat unlucky caught dopers (riders on a ban from a wrong country). It is a mess. The playing field was NEVER as uneven as it is now. Plus the doping is more dangerous then ever. Its changed from "safe" 50-Hct-Doping to a high risk life threatening Blood-Doping-Mess. It is ridiculous.
The last true winner (and also the biggest scapegoat EVER in the history of sports) is Jan Ullrich 1997 beating his also doped opponents by 9 minutes.
1998 was a joke (half the riders abandoned or had to). 1999, the field was feared while one basterd laughed at all (didnt care about the "Tour de Renewal"). And with 2000 the life threatening Blood-Doping-Mess started. Since then its clear, not the talent wins, but the most fearless I-Dont-Care-If-I-Die-Doper wins.
P.S.: By all saying that, Rasmussen is the 2nd biggest scapegoat ever. He wasnt even tested positiv, yet his win was given to a Blood-Doping Fuentes-Guy with all signs of HGH-Symptoms (big ears, big eye-brows, big jaw and big nose compared to the overall look).
I really feel to vomit now. I better stop thinking of this mess.
