But while you are talking about your own product again can you explain the Sammy Sanchez and Cadel Evans endorsements on your site. Are they endorsements? Do they know they are there?

If so what amount of their respective training schedules are spent on them?
They aren't listed as endorsing the product, they are listed as users (something a little more powerful we think). We did make page 175 of Cadel's book should you care to check. Most of these guy's agents know everything that gets posted about them and once or twice we have been contacted by someone where we thought they were a user and they denied it (sent cranks to their team for their use but they were never delivered to them, so they claim). Has happened once or twice. Sanchez has not contacted us and our source regarding his use we consider very reliable (he did not get them from us).

edit: I occasionally question customers about how they heard about us, etc. Here is a reply I got this week: "…I came to power cranks reading about Cadel Evans. Page 175 of that book (Just Like Flying) mentions these weird golden cranks he uses pre-season to get him to pedal correctly. A bit of internet sleuthing and I came up with your website. If it's good enough for him..... "

Except that this thread is now over 400 posts and some of them are actually on topic.

400+ posts and not one providing any evidence that short cranks improve performance.

No data from the wind tunnel or a Chung test showing that a shorter crank will improve aerodynamics over other modifications to position or equipment.

A bit like Seinfeld 'a topic about nothing'.

I do find it strange that because a rider hasn't contacted you the default position is he is a Powercrank user. And I take it from your reply that you have any idea of the amount of his usage? And I see from a quick Google search that you have been making that claim for several years. In fact at one point you were claiming three Olympic champions in a row on Powercranks. I'm surprised the whole pro peloton aren't on them by now.

No, we consider someone a PowerCranker when we have "proof" that they have used the product. Most of the time we have sent the product to them directly, at their request (most of them pay for it), we have other evidence (for instance Ricco was in a Youtube video riding the cranks). It is not the default position that a rider uses the cranks. Probably 25 people have told us that Armstrong used the product yet, we can't "prove" it so you won't see us making that claim.

Three Olympic Road champions in a row have used PC's. Bettini twice then Sanchez. We think pretty much the whole pro peloton is (or, have been) on them, we just can't prove it. We have some of the team leaders coming to us to purchase cranks for some of the lesser riders on their team.

As it was implied in Cadel's book and as we have been told by some pros directly, most of these guys want to keep their use quiet because they don't want the competition to know about the product. As Barb Lindquist told me (#1 ranked triathlete for many years) "I didn't tell anyone about these except for my friend, H. Kemper, because he didn't compete against me."

Cool story bro!

I guess the Gimmickcranks are the reason that Ricco, Basso, Museeuw and co were always going so well:D
No, it was their use of the gimmick meter.

Must be a special power meter that pedals the bike for you that only the Pro's can get hold of. My power meter just measures wattage:(
But, my product actually makes them better (or so I claim). Maybe that is why all the people actually interested in becoming as good as they can possibly be might use it.

Now can we get back on topic.

Ah yes, your claims and 400+ subsequent posts with no evidence provided. Pretty much on par with the claims for a Gimmickcrank.

Well, here is the best I got right now, from a facebook post. "Mt. Everest Challenge - DONE!!!!!! Congratulations to Drew Peterson not only for winning his division but also beating most of the pros,"

More to follow …

Yes congratulations, that is 462 posts and no evidence that short cranks make any difference to performance.

"in fact, if the timed sections only included climbing times...those cranks might make him King of the Mountains."

Not bad for a Cat 5. More to follow …

From Facebook and Drew: "Mission Accomplished. Everest Challenge on 110mm powercranks with arch cleats took around 1 hour and 20 minutes off my time last year. felt good on day 2 and think the short cranks helped a lot I put on an 11-34 and this helped on the steep hills. keeping the cadence up keeps the power up with these lil cranks. Many people were interested in these lil cranks."

1:20 off last years time would put him 4th overall last year. Not bad for a "cat 5". We will see what it does for him this year compared to everyone else. More to follow.

Think it will be hard to argue now that long crank length is important to climbing speed.

Based off an anecdote. Yes, very scientific.

467 posts and no evidence for short cranks and no evidence against long cranks. Martin is this some record for a "Seinfeld" post?

Sorry, its still impossible to claim that the cranks had anything whatsoever to do with his improved performance.

This single performance of one athlete who has trained for a year between efforts is a single point..... oh wait, where did I read that recently?

Hey, it is an anecdote. It proves nothing. But, in view of this result, it is hard to claim that one can't climb well on very short cranks.

Here's the thing Frank - I for one have never made the claim that this is not the case.

Perhaps he could have climbed better on long cranks. Perhaps he could have climbed better wearing lucky red socks. Perhaps if one makes claims they provide real evidence rather than cool stories.

But, others have. It is the most common come back I hear when I talk to (encourage) them to try short cranks. This is especially true coming from the mountain bikers. All they see to be able to think about is the "leverage" they will lose.
