Basso is just riding as a sort of mentor/road captain for the younger Cannondale riders nowadays. He has no illusions of former climbing/GC glories, certainly not on a high altitude super steep slog! They were riding for George Bennett

The rabofail is starting to catch up with Kelderman aready. He's content with finishing more than a minute on a MTF behind Ben Hermans and an awkward American baldy old enough to be his father. :(

This gives me flashbacks to Gesink and Mollema being content after they wheelsucked and struggled their way to an anonymous top 10 in a mediocre field. I thought Kelderman was different.

Not his fault that he can't do anything better at the moment. I'm sure if you were a pro you would be at 100% all year round...

Comments like this are not just stupid, they are also slightly mean and uncalled for :rolleyes:

Well, I'm sure I'm being too harsh and I deserve some of your criticism, but I specifically didn't claim there's anything wrong with how he rode. There's nothing wrong with sucking in prep races. What annoyed me was the way they talked about his result, as if he got some good placing, when in fact he got dropped by Ben Hermans on a MTF. That attitude just reminded me of rabo mediocrity.

You guys expect every rider to be at their very best all the time on every parcours!! Do you really think a guy like Kelderman is gonna do a peak performance in a 2nd tier race at high altitude in America on a 16% grind?!

Please read my posts before you reply to them.

Specifically the one right before the one you just posted.

Rabofail would be him winning the Tour of Utah and then sucking in the Vuelta. What he's doing now is what we call a good build up. He has only done endurance training, what did you expect?

Not to mention that Danielson and Horner are simply more talented than Kelderman for climbs like this on high altitude.

Why'd Hofland abandon? And who was that flying into the ditch? Kinda looks like a UHC rider.

The 30 last k were awesome. Lots of turmoil and infighting in the breakaway. Loved the small dirt sections as well.

Rode up to the KOM from Kamas today and watched the descent. Really good weather. Got a few sprinkles, but nothing major. There was about a 30 degree temperature (F) change between Kamas and the KOM.
thanks for comments!great inside look:)
