It's fine to have that mentality, it's just a little annoying that it also makes all Danish cycling personas on social media taking it for granted that he will of course always win Flanders, Roubaix, Worlds, Olympics, and what have you. As if he has Pogacar like status...

Well, it's a bit neither here nor there. Considering that he had a fracture on the scapula, it would for sure be necessary to have a short rest, so in that sense you could say that it would help him. But if he hadn't had the crash, it would definitely have been better to ride the whole race, also with the Olympics in mind.

Case in point:

Big Mads wants his compatriot Vingegaard at the Worlds, but Jonas Jr is on the way so nope ... (the joke is of course both Vingegaard and Pedersen have houses in Switzerland not far from each other so I suppose Mads has been around there, annoying Trine and saying things like, A kids for lfe, but the chance to win the WC does n't happen every day, and you'll have plenty of days to change nappies but only one to win the WC! )

In fact I think Trine would agree - being the local whips-in on the home front.
However, when is her due date? Quite understandable if there's a cross-over with the worlds.
(sorry I haven't followed the tabloids that much)

i tried googling a bit and it doesn't seem like anyone has confirmed the due date.

So sometime between now and November I guess.

I can't make up my mind whether or not I find it funny that Pedersen is using the media to apply pressure on Jonas so Skjelmose will have a proper domestique.

It's hilarious. Now Pedersen can say to Jonas, look at all these people online wanting you to race the WC. Do it, and you'll be a hero! :D

Bjarne Riis is also jumping on the "Danish smart" tactic -

"It's not forbidden to be intelligent and creative," explains the 1996 Tour de France winner and compatriot of Jonas Vingegaard, Bjarne Riis via the Cafe Eddy podcast. "If you're up against someone who's stronger than you, the only way you can beat them is by thinking smart. You have to be smarter than the others."

With no chance in Rwanda, I don't think that makes sense (for the team). Helping Milan in the flat sprints and going for his own chance the rest of the time would still leave him with his best chances for stage wins in the Tour.
I think that maybe for those stages that Milan can’t go for the win, and Pedersen could go for it, they will bring Nys. Since that would work best with the schedule from Nys.

I am a bit surprised that Pedersen opted out of the Tour especially after having to abandon it in 2024 but I actually don't think its a bad decision because 2025 Giro has lots of stages that suit him so he should have a decent chance of taking ciclamino and in the Vuelta there are also several stages that he can contest plus the points jersey too.

Milan to the Tour makes sense as he is one of the three best sprinters in the world and can still be very competitive without a Pedersen lead out and I suppose Nys will get his chance in the hilly stages.

Mads vs Wout at the Giro. 😃

Yeah, but no Milan with a Pedersen leadout at the Tour (while Pedersen gets to ride for himself on the hillier stages) is a bummer...
