Thanks!
He's one of those riders that tend to bend but not break. When they're on a day good enough to attack the hardest climbs in a race, they usually don't crumble afterwards.quite sneakily a good career for somebody with:
-Above average punch, but not as explosive as a real classic contender
-Above average climbing, but not as much as a pure climber
-Above average TT, but not like a Dennis, Dumoulin or Froome
-Decent sprint, but nothing like Valverde
Still wins L'Avenir (u23), San Sebastian, Lombardia, Tour stage, Vuelta stage and a bunch of smaller one day and stage wins + world and euro champ TTT. As well as podium Vuelta, top 5 Giro and top 6 Tour. While possibly losing an even better placing in the Tour due to a fall..
And a monument win. ChapeauA Grand Tour podium and a World Championships title for him this year. Quite a season.
Nibali probably does the Giro, while Porte is focusing on one day races, results in Mollema riding GC at the TDF.
Just consider yourself superior to most other cycling fans and consider it a win.
Guys please help Mollema. He should not lose to Evenepoel in a poll after winning Lombardia, top 5 Giro + wc + ec mr title.
From what Guercilena said when he was at Radiocorsa some weeks ago is more likely that Mollema will be the leader in one day races but Nibali's helper/second fiddle in GTs, he also hinted that the Tour could be very good for Ciccone and they are considering to send him undertrained to the Giro to be of some help in the third week and then ride for the GC in France.Nibali and Mollema could be a strong unit in Liege and Lombardia. And I'd like to watch Porte dom for Mollema in the Tour.
Ciccone doesn't feel to be able to go for the GC in a GT because of his poor ITT level but the team is keen to test him and see if at least it's something possible for the future or it's better to set different goals for him.Ciccone said he doesn't want to ride GTs for GC yet. Wants to learn more from Mollema and Nibali this year (2020 season) and then target a GT in 2021.
So not sure what's true. It was also reported last year following the Giro that he would get to ride the Vuelta as a first GC try, but then they sent him to the Tour. Now we know that the Vuelta was the easiest GT to top 10 for years. So it would have been a good choice for a first try.
