2 hour temporary ban for anyone responding to him.

The simple fact that you don't want to respond to him, means no-one may respond to him? As of now he at least is mildly civil

Not my point, but I can understand your reaction. I have discussed this too many times. It derails the conversation because he baits folks into responding and then immediately goes circular.

Sorry.

Very cranky. Surprised at his overreaction here. Gives the impression that the Landis allegations are hitting a little close to the mark.

I can't see it from work, will ck it later.

I think he may also be cranky as the tdf starts in like 2 1/2 wks and as of yet, his form and fitness appear to suk dead donkey diks. He's probably looking for a way out of a well deserved spanking and options are getting slim.

What? You want me to provide links to the famous press conference where Armstrong and Bruyneel were asked about the allegations and denied them? Are you serious? They asked about the donation and they denied that as well.

If you didn't know about this then it's no wonder you took offense at Armstrong's reaction.

Get on google.

nowhere here does any of the reporters ask directly about doping, they are willing to follow LA in his talk, but none, except one, is critical, the laugh when he wants them to laugh the do not interject, they do not ask critical questions. This is I believe one of the most fundamental flaws with todays cycling, journalists who are to dependent on cyclists for stories to be critical

Yes they do ask about the donation, and LA lies about that, but nowhere do they ask about doping

I think his form is pretty good to be honest. He showed good form at the tour of Beligum and hasn't struggled so far in this tour. (You can't count the TT because he had to deal with the rain and wasn't taking risks, of course.)

I suspect he will be as good as last year come the tour.

The problem is, everyone around him will have improved from last year and there is no TTT, so in reality last year's form won't get him on the podium. My sense at this stage is he is looking at a top ten finish but well outside the favourites.

Isn't it a better idea not to ban him and just to put him on your ignore list, he comes back everytime anyway.

Oh, I have put him on ignore many times. I like seeing his posts disappear after his ban though. It makes me feel all warm inside.

He'll spiral out of control shortly.

I still don't understand why the forums don't put in place a system where you need to wait a week or so before your account is approved.

But to be honest I myself like to discuss with him now and again, at least makes sure I have something to do for a few minutes while I take a break from writing

I think you're splitting hairs here. They asked about the allegations and he denied them. It's the same question that this German reporter asked. I believe he also went around the news channels afterwards individually and answered the same questions.

For the record he later clarified that he denied that the donation was part of the bribe.

What I haven't seen from him is competitive racing in the mountains. I'm curious to see his climbing form when racing. That, more than anything, will tell me what I need to know about his form.

That does not adress the simple fact that the European press was not at that event and thus had not had the possibility themselves to ask the questions. And if you listen to what LA says he does not directly say that he did not do doping, he says these allegations are made by a deranged madman who has no credibility, not that he never took PEDs

I've seen lots of people claim that other riders gave non-denial denials, but I have not seen anybody say that Armstrong gave such a non-denial answer.

No, no, I mean he flat-out denies the allegations of Landis, but nobody asks specificialy about PEds, nor does he himself adresses them directly

What was his form in the TT? even given that he backed off on the descent, he was like 28th at the top of the climb.

He just looked completely out of sorts going up that climb. He's been following wheels too long and was lost without someone there to pace him.

He did seem in reasonable place the day before yesterday, but that couldn't really be said to be a mountain.
But really does anyone think he can find a good enough form for a high placing in the tour? If he does this sport will become even more of a laughing stock than it already is

My god, the Belgian commentators say that LA is looking better than last year, these guys really know nothing. They also believe that Bruyneel will change something now that he has made it a personal goal to do som ething about the grand tour invitations

Your Belgian commentators sound as astute as versus commentators. I tend to expect better from European commentary, although you have just told me to lower my expectations.

It wasn't sporza, but the other sports channel, don't know what it is called, was just watching a stream of it, as neither sporza nor dutch (with UK commentary) eurosport is showing it. Sporza still doesn't really like LA:D

Well we're going to see how Lance is doing in tommorow's TdS stage. I think that will be a nice formindicator for all the possible TdF gc asspirants. Everything else then finishing at least in the 2nd group would be dissapointing.

Aww, yes, Outside Magazine, the magazine for gay yuppies. There are more male models in that periodical than Playgirl. It is a sausage fest. I completely gave up on Outside when they did a review of parkas. Each parka, including Patagonia's (Motto: Dedicated to the core.) DAS Parka, was shown on a model looking douchebag wearing a suit and tie underneath and looking like he was just outside his investment banking office in Manhatten. Dedicated to the core indeed.
