I don't get as worked up as some of you do over Lance's supporters. Some of them do seem to suffer from sort mania bordering on a mental illness. Like it or not, a huge portion of this year's tdf will be focused on Lance vs AC, which is likely to be anti-climactic.

I am a huge fan of AC, but I don't think he walks on water, and I don't he is any cleaner than anyone else. At this point, so long as the outcome is not pre-ordained and the guys, doped though they prolly are, are all doing their best at winning, well that's about all we can expect at the moment.

if this sport ever gets serious about cleaning its act up, there will likely be a whole new cast of riders to root for, the ones who couldn't or wouldn't dope or the ones for whom the dope had no positive effect. And the races will be slower, and the suffering will be greater (which I think a lot of us will enjoy!), but much of it will be the same.

I think the participants on this board beat up lance's fans a bit too much. They are wildly outnumbered, so their backs are up against the wall all the time. I know it's just a forum, but beating a guy into the ground shows us more about you than the guy you beat into the ground. Trolls are another story. Anyone responding to a known troll of any stripe is a moron. I know, i know....welcome to the internet.

None the less if Lance starts to climb with the leaders at the Tour Floyd has his finger hovering of the SEND button on the last two emails.

Actually (in part responding to Brodeals usual rant) I don't consider myself a lance fanboy. I just try to be objective in my comments which are usually responses to ridiculously wild assertions, allegations or speculation. A number of the obsessively anti-LA brigade such as Bro and Hog to name two just lend themselves to a response because their posts are so dumb most of the time.

To be fair to Hog though, he doesn't usually resort to the cheap name calling that Brodeal does if anyone has the temerity to disagree with him. Others like Maserati at least have some objectivity in their posts which I respect even though I don't always agree with their opinion, but hey discussion is why we have forums. it would be boring if everyone had the same viewpoint.

I have no doubt that Armstrong plans on using major amounts of blood over the next five weeks. He said he would be doing everything to win eight. We all know what that means. I think the plan is to set a new record for the number of liters that have been used in a GT then retire before the passport committee even gets a chance to look at the values from the Tour. Speedway, 9000ft, Rox, and all the other sniffers will have a good month. It will be like a Biblical plague of locusts.

Lance haters seem to forget that 98% of the english speaking population that will be watching the tour will want lance to win and will be wanting the commentators to tell us how good he looks/how much power he has etc. Personally if they werent praising lance and were instead praising contador i would put them on mute.

Does not matter. Commentary should be un biased and not suck up to lance in the sickly ways Sherwen and Liggett do.
