This is the reason for the hatred???????
I bought the Cycling Weekly guide to the Tour so that I would have route maps and what not for looking at.
There is a brief article on Contador and in it the writers make the point of saying Armstrong makes no attempt to hide his dislike of Contador. Followed by this quote from the Texan ..........
“He’s just a Spanish guy who has always lived in the same village, and he has his friends, his family, the street where he grew up, his country, his people ......... but he’s surrounded by yes-men”
Really??
This is the reason you choose to dis-like someone and try to bring the world's media down on them? Really?
What this says to me ( ignoring the sheer idiocy of his "yes-men" comment) is that Contador is a man comfortable with who he is and where he came from. A man surrounded by friends and family who he trusts and who will not lie to him or cheat him.
A man grounded and solid.
What it also says is that Armstrong is none of those things, and has none of those things. That without his constant need to appear in print he would simply blow away.
Armstrong appears to be unwilling to accept that he could be beaten by a simple man, rather than by a private jet jockey.
And, really? Contador is surrounded by yes-men? Lance, you need to look around you.
Pretty shallow reasons for the hate.
