Lance comeback

the man had 4 accidents for goodness sakes. Then everyone saying this comeback was a disaster. The prologue time trial shows us he was ready to kick ***, look Contador in the eye and accelerate with him in the Alps and the Pyrnees. But we were never given that chance, nor did we have to see Lance dig down deep. Stage 16 shown us that he still had it, and if he didnt get caught up in accident, who knows what would of happened. We were robbed of a Armstrong, Contador, Schleck showdown in the mountains.

these two guys become legends

Bobby Julich
Tyler Hamilton

and maybe Big George would of found that something extra he never found that made him a winner

For those of us that live in Seattle there are two legends that both could ride Lance off of their wheel: Dave Nicholson/Natz TTT record holder, Olympic TTT team(no, Lance wasn't on the team, just some other local guys) Greg Randolph/TT stud, US Olympic team member. These are the last two amateurs to make the US team in the pro era.
Dave broke his hip training in Barcelona before the Olympic event and lost interest after recovery. Greg had a contract with Motorola when Lance got sick. Faced with the choices on European teams he elected to race mountain bikes as a clean competitor. That's more than the other two you referred to can claim. Pick your legends carefully, local.

sorry just a Lance fanboy since 1998. Only locals I know of are Farrar and Horner. I barely know how to ride a bike, but I wanted to really get into cycling now.

Ask some other locals that have been around. It's why some local knowledge of Lance is just now being brought to light. It also will show you how good riders you compete against can be and what many pros are willing to do to get a little, or alot better. Farrar is the real deal and Horner showed credentials years ago. You can hope the younger one is staying the clean route and seems to be.

Oh come on, for years the spin told us he avoided the bad luck and accidents by being so strong and well prepared that he could stay up front and out of trouble. If that was the case he has definitively proven that he can no longer do that, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have the years left to roll the dice on a trouble free race without that strength and preparation.
The dream is over, let it go, some day you will find something or someone else to make your life meaningful.

Now you're just embarrassing our city.

Actually, stage 16 showed us that Lance was incapable of out-climbing Pierrick Fredrigo.

If your really just beginning to get into it, don't post two new threads in 10 minutes.

I feel as if someone just told me the Easter bunny isnt real, hes the reason I know what maillot jaune, peleton means. The reason I look forward to hearing the voices of Phil Ligget and Paul Sherwin in July. The reason I will continue to follow the sport that he brought me to and that Contador/Schleck will make me stay. He is an inspiration and I join his belief in never giving up no matter the circumstances.

Stay in the sport and open your ears and mind. It's great and everyone here loves it. As for Lance; it's best to watch and listen for awhile as history is still in the works.

I'm so tired of these Lance huggers threads. Can we please start focusing on the real man of the tour a.k.a. Russian Bad Boy Denis Menchov poised to win next year's tour?

thanks oldman, yeah you are right about Lance, Im holding out hope for a 2011 TDF run but seriously yes its best to see how it develops. So what kind of a bike do I buy? As I am just starting out a new sport the the young age of 29, but been a fan of cycling since I was 17

Go see the Guru, Matt @ Gregg's. He'll sort you out. Don't mention your love of Lance right away.

Agreed, and joining the forum in July is always a bad idea, seeing as the fanboys only come out for this time of the month. Then again, I do seem to remember you posting a thread just like this, and then saying it would be funny if I got cancer since I had criticized Lance.

Your right, I'm sorry. Just ran through the thread again and someone else posted it. Just got it mixed up since it was your thread. My bad.
