I thought the final climb was a little harder. Instead it was perfect for Moreno.
He closed an enormous gap in a few seconds. Now leading the GC!

Truly a shame he was not selected for the Olympics :(

Agreed. He could have caused havoc there.

How is his stamina though ? Can he handle longer stages ?

Yes he did great in the italian championship that was 250 + km long.

It's a shame that we won't see him in London, but Bettini said that he sees him more as a guy for the worlds this year.

Thing is we have a few guys who could contend in the Worlds anyway.
Olympics, not so much.

What if he wins the Worlds? :D

Whatever, seriously, he's gonna win it in a few years. Maybe Florence. Would be awesome :)

What about the Vuelta? If he goes I can see him battle with top Gt guys (ok maybe except Alberto!) at least in one mountain stage

Still unproven at the level and on those type of mountains.

Plus he's still 21 years old. There's no need to rush things. He needs to rest at some point in the season.

Vino attacks everyone said:
Looks like this guy really could dominate the ardennes in a few years, and probably also alot of 1 week stage races.

You'll need to change your username to Moreno attacks everyone. You'll see :D

Moreno was in the RAI studio today. Very laid back and humble kid.
He's taking a month off now. Will be back for Colorado in late August,

Meh, American races...

Is he riding the Vuelta? I would also like to see him in the Eneco Tour and see if there really is potential for him to become the new Moser. ;)

After all, it takes much more than winning a hilly classic to become the New Moser...

Let's not forget he's a neo-pro :p

He's taking a break and not riding the Vuelta. He wants to be ready for the Worlds.

How unbelievable would it be if he were to win the worlds in his first season as a neo-pro? He might be Italy's best shot, actually.
