Orica, BMC and Sky apparently want to sign Kelderman for next year.

Dear god, please not Sky.

That depends, if he's just another wagon in the train there's no point, but if they make him the last man for Froome in the Tour he's probably better off than being the last man for Bauke Mollema...

No way Kelderman will be a domestique for Mollema ever, at the very least they'll be equals going into next years Tour. Probably time for Gesink to find another team then.

“Why should I always follow? That way I’ll never win,” said Wilco Kelderman, while he was preparing to go on the podium as best young rider for the fourth day in a row.

For this alone, people should adore him :D

I certainty do. :) Glad to see a rider that won't use the follow to maintain place tactic.

Re. his team, I hope he doesn't go to another team and sticks with Belkin. They can offer him pretty much anything or more another team can.

So after bad luck in Paris Nice and Catalunya, a 7th in the Giro and a 4th in the Dauphine, Wilco earned himself a little vacation.

Great first half of the season.

He has been brilliant. What I'm most impressed about from this week was how well he picked the attacks to follow or get into himself.

But... but.. why didn't Keldermerckx win the Dauphine by 5 minutes? :p

He did well and looks to still be on track to be a major GC contender soon. We'll see.

He was kinda bummed that on the last climb he was 20 seconds behind JvdB and practically stayed there (finished at 21 seconds of VDB), because he wanted 3rd place

Great season, now lets hope he skips the Vuelta or at least goes there to just hunt some stages.

'Just' hunting stages? You're talking like competing in a GT is no big deal at all. :p

Of course ;) I just dont like the idea of such a young guy killing himself everyday for a top 10 for the second time this season. Especially when the Vuelta climbs shouldnt really suit him.

they shouldnt suit him in steepness, but most of them are shorter as well, that on the other hand does suit him

But we'll see. He wants to go to the vuelta but it isn't set in stone yet. He'll see how he feels at the time
