Why is Kagawa not playing anymore, is he injured? I read that he is unhappy and that he wasn't even on the bench a couple of times, same thing today apparently.

I hope Moyes keeps doing this until half season, then I'm sure Kagawa will come back to Dortmund on a loan

Moyes is supposed to be not happy that Kagawa went off to play for Japan in early August as he played also in the Confederations Cup before that. He wanted him to rest up. He has been a big topic of discussion among the United fans I know and they are as baffled as you are to his exclusion from the team. Take the Liverpool game a couple of weeks back you would think with Rooney's absence, he would have been slotted in behind Van Persie. But Moyes in all his wisdom didn't even put him on the bench and said it was between Nani and Kagawa for the last spot on the bench. If I didn't know any better, I think Moyes doesn't rate him and has reservations about him as a player. I heard Dortmund fans have a campaign going called "Free Shinji" going. I wouldn't be surprised to see his return either in January or at the end of the season.

Referee in Arsenal game was a joke, should have sent of Arsenal player who pulled back Sunderland player and should have let play go on, don't like De Canio or his team but hard not to have sympathy for them

I know when you guys think "US Soccer {football}," you guys probably give a bemused chuckle, but I drove a total of 12 hours to take my son to the US v Mexico qualifying game last Tuesday in Columbus Ohio, and it was far and away the best live sporting event I have ever attended, and I am a NFL fan, and have been to playoff games. Just an amazing atmosphere, and we beat our biggest rival and qualified for the World Cup. Now to get him to Barcelona...

There's always a great atmosphere at the US v Mexico games. I notice it's the one game that a lot of Americans take an interest in even if they don't follow the game week in week out.

Good result especially with Altidore missing but Mexico are a shambles at the moment. They sacked their manager just before the game and they are in real trouble trying to qualify for the World Cup themselves. A World Cup without Mexico is practically unheard but it could easily happen now.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Mexico have a very good team too. Surprising that they are struggling. If they are 4th they will have to play off against NZ for a WC place.

I am just bummed that Cap Vert was relegated, I really like that country and that culture, WC participation would have been huge for them

Go Southampton!! :D

Lovren has been a great signing and I didn't think he was anything special at Lyon when I saw him. I thought 8m was well overpriced at the time but he has settled in very quickly. I still think there is more to come from Osvaldo and Wanyama. In Osvaldo's case he has been poor in the last 2 games against Liverpool today and W.Ham last week. He is much better than what he has shown so far. I have to say Luke Shaw is going to be some player and it could be difficult holding on to him in the future. Not all but some Liverpool fans were getting away ahead of themselves after the good start they had and if you analyse their performances they were lucky in many aspects of them. The Villa match while they played well first half they were equally outplayed in the 2nd half where only some good saves for Mignolet stopped Villa from getting a deserved draw. In the United game they got the goal from a set piece but overall they had problems in holding posession for the entire match. Similarly in the 2nd half of the Swansea match last week when they were outplayed and outpassed. Even the Stoke game they conceeded a penalty near the end of the match only for Mignolet to save. Remember Notts Co. took them to extra time at Anfield in the Carling Cup and Liverpool had a strong team out.

On a different note can someone tell me how on earth Mourinho doesn't rate Mata? Not even on the bench today when fully fit and the rumours in the British press that Mourinho doesn't rate him looked to have been proven true especially after his comments on him in the last couple of days

His lack of work rate is his problem. Mourinho likes his wide men to be hard running and support defensively. Oscar is occupying the No 10 position and it's fair to say, he's performing brilliantly and deserves to start. So Mata fins himself out of the starting line up. Won't be surprising if he goes out on loan, or is sold during the January Transfer window.

Very strange that Barcelona who have won the possession statistic in every single game of the last 5 years, even in the ones where they got destroyed by Bayern lost the possession for the first time in 5 years yesterday, despite winning 4-0

Hopefully they lost a lot of money firing him. What a thick signing that was in the first place.

Well when you get rid of a manager like O'Neill and replce him with a joke like Di Caniio is it any wonder you are in trouble, that club has become a laughing stock, not that it bothers me.

I'm delighted they got rid of O'Neill as he is the strong favourite to take over the Ireland job.

I advise reading this on Di Canio and why he was sacked. No surprise he's gone if this is true. He's just not cut out for top level management.

What a player.

The Wizard of Oz.

I have to agree with Wenger, that was the best I seen Arsenal play since they beat Barca in the Emirates in 2011. A joy to watch, especially in the first half.

What happened to all the anger towards Wenger after the start of the season then? How quickly things change, eh?;)

On Dutch tv tonight, Aad de Mos said that he thought it was a criminal mistake by Real to let Ozil go, and that he would take Arsenal far this season. Henk ten Cate said that the **** were his favorites for the Prem title. Both are mega-impressed with Ozil. So am I, always rated the lad very highly.
