Watching Arsenal v Man City. Looks like a serious injury for Gabriel right at the end of the game. Terrible for him. Hope for a speedy recovery and that it's not too serious.

That leaves only Holding, Chambers and Bielik as centre backs for the Liverpool game as Koscielny returns late back from the Euros. Wenger has to go into the market. They're linked with Mustafi who would be a good addition. Please not Jonny Evans though who they have expressed interest in signing.

I remember always watching the Supercup in the last days of summer, before going back to school, when all the seasons were already under way.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that all these guys were playing in the Euros. Now the new season has arleady begun. Football is so oversaturised.

I don't think I ever heard the Arsenal fans as so vocal against Wenger as the away fans were during the Leicester game.

I think this will be his last season. Arsenal are going nowhere as long as he remains in the managerial seat.

I love watching ArsenalFanTV. So much anger and frustration, and you completely understand them. The fans are overspending on tickets. The most expensive tickets in England, so why is Arsenal penny pinching when it comes to buying players?

Got to give Wenger credit though. He has never failed to get into the top 4, but if I were a fan I'd rather see a mediocre season like Chelsea's last a few times but also winning titles from time to time. The board are just banking on fans showing up and paying ridiculous amounts for season tickets and trying to make as much profit as possible. It can only go on for so long. Either the fans step up and demand change by staging mass protests like not showing up to a home game, or Arsenal finish mid-table and they understand they need to change. Wenger only has a year left on his contract though IIRC, so if they don't offer him an extension at least there will be SOME change next season. Doesn't mean that anything will necessarily change. Might even get even worse.

Robbie does a great job running ArsenalFanTV. Maybe too much emotive ranting for my liking at times but that is to be expected when a mic is put in front of you two minutes after a bad result happens.

Wenger and Kroenke are the perfect partnership. They suit each other. I said it before, the decision in 2011 to sell and make Kroenke the majority shareholder will go down as one of the worst decisions in the club's history. Lady Nina Bracewell Smith now regrets selling to him over the way she has seen the club run. I have little respect for what the club has become and it's just a vehicle for Wenger to do as he pleases while Kroenke doesn't have a care in the world being the absentee owner that he is. It's a pity Hill-Wood didn't stick to his "we don't want his sort" comment when Kroenke first bought the ITV shares some years ago.

Wenger is finished at the top of the game for some time. This isn't anything new. He could win the odd domestic cup competition as not necessarily the best team will win them, but his days as an elite manager going for the Premiership and possibly doing something in Europe are well and truly over. I have no sympathy for his excuses about the ridiculous prices in the transfer market when you look at some of the ridiculous wages he has given out to players over recent years like Walcott last year getting a new contract worth £140,000 a week.

And Roma crash out. Two red cards and a 0-3 loss to Porto at home, no CL in Totti's last season. One of the worst matches Roma has played in years.

Sure, very decent keeper, but imo not world class and not a very natural leader, which you need to be as a keeper at this level.

Would be fun to see Barca play more agressive in the knockout phase of tournaments, as Cillessen is like 0/35 in stopping penalty kicks. He stopped one, but they scored from the rebound.

I just don't see Cillessen being the #1 keeper at a club like Barca. I don't even feel he excels that much at Ajax to be honest. Ajax has another great deal with getting rid of him and renting Tim Krul in his place

He should be an upgrade over Walcott atleast. Giroud still much better though but they need player to run in behind. Perez should be able to do that from RW.

At the euros I really saw how mediocre a.player giroud is.
Strong in the box, sure, but mediocre outside the box. Imo not an arsenal man.
On the plus side, he has good team spirit and positive attitude.
I guess that and him being French is what has kept arsene from booting him.

It shows how great Wenger's transfer plans are, that they were offered Lucas Perez last month and they turned down the opportunity to sign him. I've seen quite a bit of him, he was linked with a few big clubs last season. He's decent but I still don't see him as good enough for what Arsenal need.

I had to laugh (again) at hearing Arsenal's opening offer for Mustafi was 18m euros. They could have signed him a lot earlier had they put up the cash. Wenger's dithering in the market costed us again. He could have been available for the Liverpool game and have played alongside Koscielny if it wasn't for Wenger giving too much time off after the Euros. A likely different outcome in that game then. Poor planning again this summer and we're already playing catch up.

Overall. Xhaka and Mustafi good additions but not sure about Perez. It remains to be seen about Holding as well. He did play well against Leicester though.
