He'll be back and make all his haters suffer.

He had the measure of his opponent for most of the match and it took some herculean freakish points from Alcaraz to win that one.

So yeah, the guy who shouts vamos and gets the crowd on his side after every point won came out on top. But if Sinner keeps on doing what he's doing (& don't forget he only had one preparation tournament before RG), their next encounter could have a different outcome.

He’s got plenty of haters after he got caught doping.

Hard to say how much that had to do with it. Sinner has basically negative charisma to start with, no matter how hard the ATP/pundits/big money tries to hype him.

LOL. Yeah, ok. Whatever you say, pal. Broski got caught doping.
Repeating something doesn't suddenly make it true. I have absolutely no idea why you insist on this take, anyway. It's honestly mystifying, and it would be great if you explained it to me. I guarantee you I'm not arguing in bad faith here.

I'm barely a casual tennis fan (and a complete USA homer), but even I know that MANY people (players and fans) were skeptical of Sinners case.

I'll leave it at that since there is a thread for this type of discussion.

Pretty insane evening. First, Alcaraz hangs tough to win the longest ATP match on grass in history (I think), and then Sinner loses to Bublik - his first loss since August to anyone other than Alcaraz.

Bublik's level is absolutely unreal when he's on, like tonight and when he beat Draper at Roland Garros.

The classic transition to grass 500s that are notoriously faster than Wimbledon

1st round Wimbledon hitting different once more. Medvedev coming off the Halle final goes out in R1. Alcaraz, coming off a Queens win is struggling mightily with 38 year old Fabio Fognini, who has never done well on grass and hasn't won a Tour level match this year.
