As we are in the last week of this yours TdF lets have a look on the line up for the last GT this year.
Some riders are nearly Safe. Like Hindley and Finn Fisher Black.
In the beginning of the Season it was also mentioned that Vlasov will ride the Vuelta as a leader. I believe that this decision could be under review as Vlasov is struggling a lot (due to health issues) and I think it would be more benefical if he is doing solide training, tackle some one day races and come back healthy and fit in 2026.
I see no one else of the Tour team doing the vuelta.
Zwiehoff was close to the TdF line up, I think he will ride the Vuelta. The newest media reports tell us that Pellizzari will also ride the Vuelta.
Its very likely that Sobrero and Tim van Dijke will also be at the start line.
So 7 riders are already in the squad, maybe just 6 if Bora is having the same thoughts about Vlasov.
Potential riders for the last one or two spots:
- Koch
- Wandahl
- Lazkano
Van Gils said several times, that he won´t do a GT in 2025 and that the Canadian races are a main goal for him. DFM mentioned that he is not a fan of the Vuelta so I think he will do the Italian races and the Canadian one day races.
Big question mark on Lazkano. Does anyone of you have news on his health and training status?
I don´t know if Wandahl will be fit enough. I think he will go for the one day races and no GT in 2026.
Maybe one of the young guns Herzog or Hajek is getting a shot here. Maciejuk, Denz and Tratnik are also outsiders for the line up.
If I could choose the line up, it would look like this:
- Hindley
- Pellizzari
- Finn Fisher Black
- Zwiehoff
- T. van Dijke
- Maciejuk
- Lazkano
- Sobrero
The team need some powerful riders for the TTT. FFB, Lazkano, van Dijke, Maciejuk and Sobrero could keep Hindley and Pellizzari in contact to the best teams in this discipline.
Zwiehoff could be the mountain domestique for Hindley and Pellizzari. The rest of the team would be free for stage hunting and support roles in the flat/hillier stages. Even if you need more mountain support FFB, Lazkano und Sobrero could be also turned into moutain domestiques for some stages.
My goal would be to get a top 5 in the GC and win one or two stages.
